Systems and methods for enhanced collection of training data for machine learning to improve worksite safety and operations. One embodiment is a system with an interface to instruct a user device of a user to capture first sensor data of an object performing one or more known actions. The system also includes a training controller to allocate points as an award to the user of the user device for correctly capturing the object performing the one or more known actions, and to generate an instruction for the user to capture second sensor data of the object performing one or more unknown actions if the user has exceeded a threshold of awarded points. The training controller trains a machine learning function based on the second sensor data of the object performing the one or more unknown actions as identified by the user having exceeded the threshold of awarded points.

Enhanced collection of training data for machine learning to improve worksite safety and operations

Systems and methods for detecting surface anomalies are disclosed. For example, a computer-implemented method for detecting surface anomalies on an object comprises receiving measured electromagnetic radiation (EMR) profiles for the object, generating synthetic EMR profiles for the object based on the measured EMR profiles, determining whether the object contains a surface anomaly based on the measured EMR profiles and the synthetic EMR profiles, and indicating a surface anomaly to a user via a display when a surface anomaly is detected. In another example, a system comprises a computing device comprising non-transitory memory with computer-readable instructions for receiving unpaired image data of an object of two different image types, predicting missing image data to generate paired image data of the two different image types, and determining whether the object contains a surface anomaly based on the paired image data. The computing device comprises a processor configured to execute the computer-readable instructions.

Synthetic image generation for surface anomaly detection

A method for managing nonconformances in laminates. The method comprises recording, by a sensor system, layup information about a layup of layers on a workpiece platform, wherein the layup of layers forms a workpiece and recording inspection information about the laminate on an inspection platform, wherein the laminate is formed from curing the workpiece. An analyzer in a computer system identifies a laminate nonconformance in the laminate using the inspection information and a user input verifies the laminate nonconformance in the laminate is present. An artificial intelligence system is trained by the computer system using the layup information, the inspection information, and the user input verifying the laminate nonconformance.

Systems and methods for enhanced collection of training data for machine learning to improve worksite safety and operations. One embodiment is a system with an interface to receive first evaluations of a first scene from a group of trainees, the first scene belonging to safety curriculum content and depicting a worksite with a known hazard that is associated in memory with a hazard profile. The system includes a controller to determine a trusted subgroup of the trainees that correctly identified the known hazard in the first scene. The interface receives second evaluations of a second scene from the trusted subgroup of the trainees that depicts the worksite with an unknown hazard. The controller trains a machine learning function based on the second evaluations from the trusted subgroup of the trainees for automatic identification of hazard indications in the second scene depicting the worksite with the unknown hazard.

An example method of performing maintenance on an aircraft includes receiving a vehicle data-signature-map of an interior of an aircraft for at least one parameter of the aircraft, and the vehicle data-signature-map is based on sensor outputs received from sensors of mobile devices positioned at locations in the interior of the aircraft. The method also includes comparing the vehicle data-signature-map with a previous vehicle data-signature-map, based on differences of the vehicle data-signature-map as compared to the previous vehicle data-signature-map making a determination for maintenance, and generating and outputting a recommendation for inspection of an identified portion of the aircraft based on the distribution of the at least one parameter in the vehicle data-signature-map for the identified portion of the aircraft being substantially different than the distribution of the at least one parameter in the vehicle data-signature-map for other portions of the aircraft to assist with the maintenance of the aircraft.

Methods and systems for performing maintenance on an aircraft

An example real-time ad hoc network sensor system includes a plurality of sensors positioned at fixed locations on an aircraft, a plurality of mobile devices in an interior of the aircraft, and a computing device having one or more processors and a non-transitory computer readable medium having stored thereon instructions, that when executed by the one or more processors, cause the computing device to perform functions including receiving outputs from the plurality of sensors and from the sensors of the plurality of mobile devices during the flight of the aircraft, mapping the outputs to a computer model of the aircraft for association with locations in the interior of the aircraft, and based on the mapping, creating a vehicle data-signature-map of the interior of the aircraft for at least one parameter of the aircraft.

Methods and systems for an ad hoc network sensor system

A method, apparatus, and system for managing nonconformances in laminates. A nonconformance management system comprises a sensor system and an analyzer in a computer system. The sensor that records layup information about the layup of layers on a workpiece platform and records inspection information about the laminate located on an inspection platform, wherein the laminate is formed from curing the workpiece. The analyzer in the computer system identifies a laminate nonconformance in the laminate using the inspection information, generates nonconformance information about the laminate nonconformance, and displays the nonconformance information about the laminate nonconformance on the laminate using a display system for an augmented reality display.

A method and apparatus is provided to inspect coverage of a coating applied to a surface of a component. A coating color space value of a color of the coating is obtained based on a camera, a light source, and the surface, each value having an associated coating thickness applied to the surface. Images of the coating covered surface are obtained. Each image is processed by determining color space values of the image, determining whether the associated coating thickness of the color space values is within a specified tolerance of a required thickness of coating based on a comparison of the color space values to color space values associated with the required thickness of coating, and responsive to the associated thickness of coating of the color space values being outside of the specified tolerance, providing an indication that the surface shown in the image is outside of the specified tolerance.

Method and apparatus for coating thickness inspection of a surface and coating defects of the surface

A system and method includes a data sensor providing sensor data. A database is configured to store the sensor data over time in rows of a table. A processor is configured to convert the table into a temporal format and collapse the rows in a temporal table. The temporal data can be normalized, and the normalized temporal data can be natively analyzed over normalized time periods, e.g., to improve an efficiency and/or accuracy of the analysis. The systems and methods can also be used to efficiently inter-operate with non-temporal data as needed.

System and method for storage and analysis of time-based data

A method includes generating a user profile for an authorized user of a mobile device based on behavior patterns associated with the authorized user. The method also includes detecting subsequent user behavior of a particular user during an attempt by the particular user to access the mobile device. The method also includes comparing the subsequent user behavior to the behavior patterns of the user profile to determine whether the particular user is authorized or unauthorized. In response to determining that the particular user is an unauthorized user, the method includes detecting activity by the unauthorized user and performing a countermeasure of a plurality of countermeasures in response to detecting the activity. Each countermeasure of the plurality of countermeasures has a different security level and corresponds to a degree of the activity.

A method, apparatus, and system for visualizing information. An augmented reality system comprises a computer system and a visualizer in the computer system. The computer system is in communication with unmanned vehicles using communications links. The visualizer system receives images of a physical object from the unmanned vehicles moving relative to the physical object and receive scan data for a region of the physical object from the unmanned vehicles. The visualizer creates an enhanced model of the physical object using the images and the scan data. The region of the physical object in the enhanced model has a greater amount of detail than the other regions of the physical object. The visualizer sends information to a portable computing device that is displayable by the portable computing device on a live view of the physical object. The information is identified using the enhanced model of the physical object.

A method receives mobile sensor information from mobile devices operated by human nodes in a location and determines whether the event has occurred at the location in which event management is needed for the event using the mobile sensor information. The method identifies resources needed for the event using the mobile sensor information in response to a determination that the event has occurred and allocates the resources identified to handle the event using the mobile sensor information.
