Described herein are methods and systems to measure dynamics of disease progression, including cancer growth and response, at multiple scales by multiple techniques on the same biologic system. Methods and systems according to the invention permit personalized virtual disease models. Moreover, the invention allows for the integration of previously unconnected data points into an in silico disease model, providing for the prediction of disease progression with and without therapeutic intervention.

Multi-scale complex systems transdisciplinary analysis of response to therapy

A system and method is provided for a gesture recognition interface system. The interface system may comprise a first and second light source positioned to illuminate a background surface. The interface system may also comprise at least one camera operative to receive a first plurality of images based on a first reflected light contrast difference between the background surface and a sensorless input object caused by the first light source and a second plurality of images based on a second reflected light contrast difference between the background surface and the sensorless input object caused by the second light source. The interface system may further comprise a controller operative to determine a given input gesture based on changes in relative locations of the sensorless input object in the first plurality of images and the second plurality of images. The controller may further be operative to initiate a device input associated with the given input gesture.

Gesture recognition interface system

Systems and methods are provided for assisting a user in creating a process diagram according to a specific methodology. A template library includes a plurality of entities associated with the methodology. Each of the plurality of entities has an associated one of a plurality of entity categories. A user interface allows a user to insert entities from the library into the process diagram and insert connections between the entities to show logical relationships between the entities. A graphical engine generates an optimal arrangement of the entities within the process diagram according to at least one characteristic of a plurality of entities and at least one connector associated with the process diagram and at least one optimization criteria when a user inserts an entity or connection. The graphical engine is operative to animate a transition between an original arrangement and the optimal arrangement.

Interactive tool for constructing and editing process diagrams

This invention relates to methods and kits for positive selection of species of interest based on peptide/protein sequence from a biological sample. The species of interest may be proteins and/or peptides of interest which may be placed through a mass spectrometer to obtain a blood peptide/protein signature. The blood peptide/protein signature may be used in proteomic analysis. The techniques include but are not limited to the use of collectors comprising nucleic acid molecules to extract a composition that has a lower concentration of a high abundance species of interest from a sample. This limits the level of influence that any collectors species may have on the results of a mass spectra.

A gesture recognition simulation system and method is provided. In one embodiment, a gesture recognition simulation system includes a three-dimensional display system that displays a three-dimensional image of at least one simulated object having at least one functional component. A gesture recognition interface system is configured to receive an input gesture associated with a sensorless input object from a user. The gesture recognition simulation system further comprises a simulation application controller configured to match a given input gesture with a predefined action associated with the at least one functional component. The simulation application controller could invoke the three dimensional display system to display a simulated action on at least a portion of the at least one simulated object associated an input gesture and a predefined action match.

Systems and methods are provided for editing and displaying a structured argument. An argument model comprises a plurality of parameters associated with a structured argument. A user interface graphically displays the plurality of parameters at a user accessible display and receives input from a user defining the value of a selected parameter. A computational engine alters the selected parameter to the defined value and updates the plurality of parameters according to the defined value of the selected parameter. The altered parameters are provided to the user interface, such that the display is updated in real time to reflect the user input.

Provided are methods for using nucleic acid sequences having two or more degenerately pairing nucleotides, each degenerate nucleotide having a partially overlapping set of complementarity, to reduce the number of hybridizing nucleotide sequences or probes used in biochemical and molecular biological operations having sequence specific hybridization. The method may be employed for various hybridization procedures with sequence specific hybridization, including sequencing methods measuring hybridization directly, and tagging by hybridization methods in which the sequence is determined by analyzing the pattern of tags that hybridize thereto, and hybridization dependent amplification methods. The method involves hybridizing to the nucleic acid sequence of interest a first hybridizing nucleotide sequence and a second hybridizing nucleotide sequence, each comprising a sequence complementary, or complementary except at a position of interest or variable position, to a nucleic acid sequence of interest, and analyzing the whether some, all or none of the probes or tags hybridize.

Systems and methods are provided for displaying raised images. A plate moves along at least one axis of motion. The movement of the plate is operative to adjust respective positions associated with a plurality of pins along the axis of motion. A clutch mechanism operates in conjunction with the plate to position each of the plurality of pins at a desired position along the axis of motion. This deforms a display surface defined by the plurality of pins.

The image of a local user is captured from a beam splitter disposed in front of a video display. By canting the beam-splitter away from the surface of the video display, the bore-sight of the video camera is made to coincide with the line of sight from the local user to the center of the video display. This enables the arrangement to convey eye-contact from one user to another user using the same type of apparatus at a remote location.
