A cable management patch panel system having one or more vertical ducting enclosures and typically located in an equipment rack. The vertical ducting enclosure is integral with the patch panel system and allows for vertical routing of cables connected to the patch panel system. The cables are vertically routed by the ducting enclosure to other patch panels or equipment located along with the patch panel system in a commonly shared equipment rack or located beyond the equipment rack.

A connector jack usable with a plug having a plurality of plug contacts. The jack includes a body having a receptacle sized and configured to receive the plug therein, a circuit board, and a plurality of contact tines extending within the receptacle. Each tine has a first end fixedly attached to the circuit board and a second free end, and is positioned in the receptacle for contact by a corresponding one of the plug contacts and moved in response thereto in a first direction as the plug is inserted into the receptacle. The jack also includes a plurality of resilient spring members extending within the receptacle, each positioned adjacent to a corresponding one of the tines to be engaged thereby when moved in the first direction by the corresponding plug contact as the plug is inserted into the receptacle, and apply a supplemental force thereto to increase contact force and tine resiliency.

Electrical connector jack

A connector jack having a body with a receptacle to receive a plug, a circuit board, and contact tines extending within the receptacle. Each tine has an end attached to the circuit board and a free end, and is moved in response to contact by a corresponding one of the plug contacts in a first direction as the plug is inserted into the receptacle. The jack includes resilient spring members extending within the receptacle, each positioned adjacent to a corresponding one of the tines to be engaged thereby when moved in the direction by the corresponding plug contact as the plug is inserted into the receptacle, and apply a supplemental force to increase contact force and tine resiliency. A tine contact portion has a pair of lateral members that receive a spring engagement portion therebetween and has a recess in which the spring engagement portion is positioned.

A connector jack usable with a plug having a plurality of plug contacts. The jack includes a body having a receptacle sized and configured to receive the plug therein, a circuit board, and a plurality of contact tines extending within the receptacle. A support assembly for supporting a circuit board in an equipment rack or similar structure. The assembly includes a circuit board defining a substantially flat board plane and a mounting member that supports the circuit board in the equipment rack. The assembly further includes a support positioned between and attached to the mounting member and the circuit board. The support has engagement portions which engage the circuit board and substantially prevents the circuit board from bending out of the board plane.

Support assembly for rack-mounted installation of printed circuit boards

A versatile multimedia connection unit or box for managing fiber optic cables and distributing individual fiber optic strands to separate connectors. In a preferred embodiment, the connection unit has a rectilinear housing defining a cavity with a distribution cell and a patch cell, a plurality of open-ended cable ports at various locations in the housing along its outer edges to pass fiber optic cable into the cavity, and a plurality of stackable cable-storage members adjustably attached to the housing to store extra fiber optic cable in the distribution cell. The connection unit also preferably has a removable front door hingedly attached to the front of the housing to provide access to the patch cell, a removable top door hingedly attached to the top of the housing to provide access to the distribution cell, and a removable rear door hingedly attached to the rear of the housing to provide additional access to the distribution cell. A plurality of connector cards with connectors and blank cards without connector are releasably mounted to a bulkhead bracket fixed to the housing in the cavity at a location that divides the cavity into the distribution cell and the patch cell. Each connector on a connector card has a distribution end in the distribution cell to which an individual fiber optic strand may be coupled and a patch end in the patch cell to which an internal line in a building may be coupled to optically couple the strand and line together.
