A throttle drive actuator for an engine includes a rotor and a stator. The rotor connects with a valve of a throttle body to rotate the valve, to open a close an air passage of the throttle body of the engine.

A throttle assembly for an engine may include a remote throttle lever, a sensor, and a terminal. The remote throttle lever may be coupled physically to a user input device and operable to be moved under control of the user input device. The sensor is configured to detect a position of the remote throttle lever and generate an output signal indicative of the position of the remote throttle lever. The terminal configured to provide the output signal to a controller of the engine.

An engine apparatus is provided that includes an internal combustion engine and a cooling airflow control subsystem The cooling airflow control subsystem includes an airflow regulator having a first component comprising one or more passageways extending through the first component, and a second component comprising one or more passageways extending through the second component, the second component mounted adjacent the first component; and an actuator operably coupled to the airflow regulator to cause relative rotation between the first and second components when actuated so that the airflow regulator can be altered between: (1) a first state in which the first and second passageways are aligned a first extent to allow a first amount of cooling airflow to reach the engine; and (2) a second state in which the first and second passageways are aligned a second extent to allow a second amount of cooling airflow to reach the engine, the first amount being greater than the second amount.

An engine apparatus is provided that includes an internal combustion engine and a cooling airflow control subsystem. A throttle drive actuator for an engine includes a first magnet and a second magnet positioned adjacent the first magnet. The north pole of the second magnet is positioned opposite the south pole of the first magnet to create a first magnetic field, and the south pole of the second magnet is positioned opposite the north pole of the first magnet to create a second magnetic field. A direction of the second magnetic field is directed opposite a direction of the first magnetic field. An armature is positioned between the first magnet and the second magnet, the armature including windings. The armature rotates between the first magnet and the second magnet when the windings are energized, and the armature rotates a valve of a throttle body of the engine, to open a close an air passage of the throttle body.

In at least some embodiments, the present invention relates to an air cleaner having a housing portion, and a low profile rain cover having an opening on an underside of the cover to allow unfiltered air to enter into the air cleaner. Also, in at least some embodiments, the present invention relates to an air cleaner including a housing and an additional component by which the air cleaner is capable of being directly coupled to a carburetor inlet. In some such embodiments, one or more protrusions can be provided within a channel formed by the housing/additional component to influence air flow. Further, in at least some embodiments, the present invention relates to an air cleaner having a shaped wall formed on a housing portion, where the shaped wall includes both an interior surface and an exterior surface by which air flowing within the air cleaner is imparted with helical motion.

An integrated, modular system for delivering fuel to an engine component in an engine having a fuel tank, as well as engine employing such a system, and methods of implementing such a system, are disclosed herein. In at least one embodiment, the system includes a housing defining a chamber, an in inlet, and a passage leading to an outlet, the inlet receiving fuel from the tank and directing the fuel into the chamber, the outlet capable of providing fuel from the passage toward the engine component. The system also includes both a pump and a pressure regulator supported within the housing, with the pump having a pump input and output, and the pressure regulator having a regulator input and output. The pump input and regulator output are in communication with the chamber and the pump output and regulator input are in communication with the passage.
