A circuit and a method for automatically detecting an operating condition of an integrated circuit chip and for automatically outputting a control signal in response to automatically detecting one of at least two said operating conditions. With the preferred embodiment, FET off currents are reduced during burn-in of a CMOS integrated chip. This is done by a compact, local sensing circuit. The sensing circuit is off during the normal chip operation, and the sensing circuit is only used where needed to provide a local signal to cut down excessive FET off currents. The sensing circuit preferred embodiment is designed with an NFET bandgap device that employs a novel layout approach.

Method and system for processing integrated circuits

High speed impact line printers comprise a continuously moving type carrier, such as an endless belt or band having engraved type characters movable at constant speed parallel to a row of print hammers. A print medium such as a continuous paper web and an ink ribbon are located between the hammers and the type carrier. The hammers are uniformly spaced parallel with the type carrier to define a print line. The spacing of the hammers corresponds to the desired spacing of the printed characters when printed and generally has one print hammer for each print position. An interposer member located between the print hammers and the print paper web enables certain characters such as vertical or horizontal bars of bar code type can be printed in the region of the clearance gaps between hammers. The interposer member can be either a thin, flexible strip or sheet of elastomeric material such as polyimide which spans a plurality of the hammers or a comblike metal member having individual flexure finger elements aligned with the print hammers. The finger elements are mutually separated by a gap which can be much narrower than the clearance gaps between the hammers.

A document feed device, illustrated with a copier machine, for recirculating documents through a processing station. A movable portion of the document feed device is mounted for pivoting movement to expose a lower document feed path. The movable portion contains several document moving rollers but no prime movers, gears or belts; these rolls are driven by frictional contact with each other and ultimately by contact with a set of driven rollers located in the nonmoving portion of the document feed device. The rollers comprising a document moving nip are oppositely skewed relative to the direction of document travel in order to move documents gently toward a reference edge and coefficients of friction of roller materials are chosen to insure correct document alignment.

Recirculating document feed apparatus and method for aligning documents

A moving document copier machine with a hinged cover of a recirculating semiautomatic document feed device for pivoting away from the top surface of the machine to expose the document feed path and enable the copying of a book or like object. A spine or rail means is provided along one edge of the document feed path to receive the center break of an opened book. Roll means interior to the document feed path support that portion of the book to be copied as it moves across the viewing station while other rollers, exterior to the document feed path, support that portion of the book not to be copied. A gate is provided to register the book.

Method and apparatus for limiting book wear while being copied

A back-lighted display sign having a protective outer face panel, a copy frame positioned behind the face panel, and a number of retaining members affixed to the rear of the copy frame to receive and retain replaceable copy inserts and color filters behind the copy frame. In one disclosed embodiment, the copy inserts include a number of transparent overlays bearing characters defined by regions of contrasting transparency.

An electrophotographic copier machine with a roll fuser where one of the mating rolls is comprised of a thin outer shell which takes a variable taper so that a concave shape is produced under high humidity conditions and a relatively straight roller is produced under low humidity conditions. Means for changing the support at the roll ends is provided to produce the variable taper. End plugs can be moved axially inward at high humidity to provide support for the end portions of the normally concave roll and can be moved axially outwardly under low humidity such that no support is provided until the roll ends are flattened under the pressure of a mating roll.

A copier having a stationary document glass and a scanning illumination/optics mechanism. The illumination/optics mechanism reciprocates through a linear scan motion and a reverse-direction reset motion during a copy process cycle. A moving photoconductor is connected to move the scanning mechanism in a scanning direction for a first part of the photoconductor movement, and to move the mechanism in the opposite reset direction during a second part of the photoconductor movement. Rotary-to-reciprocating harmonic motion mechanism couples the photoconductor's motion to the scanning mechanism to move the mechanism through the scan and reset motion.
