An electrical contact includes a body extending a length from a contacting end to a terminating end. The body includes a base extending between the contacting and terminating ends. A passageway extends through at least a portion of the length of the body. A locking barb is connected to the base of the body. The locking barb extends a length from an engagement end to a locking end. The locking barb is connected to the base of the body at a pivot point located along the locking barb between the engagement and locking ends. The locking barb is pivotable about the pivot point between a locked and an unlocked position. The engagement end of the locking barb extends into the passageway of the body when the locking barb is in the locked position.

An electrical connector includes a main housing having a forward mating face and a rearward mounting face, and a plurality of contact modules received in the main housing. Each contact module includes an upper contact module and a lower contact module joined to the upper contact module along side edges of the upper and lower contact modules. Each upper and lower contact module includes a contact housing holding rows of contacts including pairs of signal contacts and individual ground contacts.

Vertical docking connector

A low profile electrical connector includes a center contact assembly having an integral housing and a spring loaded plunger contact therein; and a shield assembly coaxial with the center contact assembly. The shield assembly includes a slotted shield base to be coupled stationary to a circuit board, and a contact ring reciprocally mounted to the shield base for relative movement thereto.

An electrical housing (12) for a circuit board assembly (14) comprises interfitting upper and lower housing members (16,18) along which the circuit board assembly is disposed when the housing members are fitted and secured together. End members (56,58) are secured to the respective ends of housing (12) with outer ends of connectors (52,54) extending through slots (65) in the end members. Jack screws (64) have shafts (66) extending through holes (63) of the end members, through channels in the housing members formed by opposing arcuate recesses (40,48) in the housing members (16,18) and clips (69) are pressed onto the shafts (66) to secure and capture the jack screws (64) in housing (12).

Electrical housing for circuit board assembly

An electrical terminal member 10 adapted to reduce resistance at a contact interface between two electrical articles comprises first and second connecting portions 12,48 respectively. First portion 12 has an annular section 14 having a fastener receiving aperture 16 extending therethrough, an inner edge 22 adjacent the fastener receiving aperture 16 and an outer edge 28 extending circumferentially around the annular section 14. Annular section 14 further includes a plurality of slots 26 spaced therearound, the slots 26 defining therebetween respective spring sections 32 in an annular array. Each spring section includes respective protrusion 34 extending from a major surface thereof, each protrusion 34 having a crest portion 36. Crest portions 36 are disposed substantially in a common plane and define a contact interface for electrical engagement with a common conductive surface 38 of the first electrical article 60. An opposed major surface as an array of surface portions engageable by means securing first portion 12 of terminal member 10 to a said first electrical article 60. A plurality of electrical paths in parallel are established between the first and second electrical articles upon terminal 10 being connected to first and second electrical articles thereby minimizing the electrical resistance at the contact interface.

Electrical terminal with annular section

A connector assembly includes modules which intermate to interconnect electrical circuits between mother and daughter printed circuit boards. The modules are provided with resilient projections which latch on relative rotation of the modules, enabling the handling of resultant modular assemblies. High current carrying terminals of the modules have contact posts of different spacings and lengths from a contact point to assure equal resistivity to avoid hot spots for high current. A polarizing key locking feature is provided by a snap ring including a slot to permit engagement and disengagement by a simple tool such as a screwdriver.
