A rigidizing latch assembly comprises a robotically compatible aerospace attachment mechanism which comprises a male latch and a receptacle configured to cooperatively couple. The male latch comprises a male latch housing and a latch assembly movably disposed within the male latch housing; a driver operatively in communication with a latch support; a male latch core; a driver interface access port; and one or more extraction feet operatively in communication with the driver. The receptacle comprises a receptacle housing sized to receive a lower portion of the male latch housing; a positioning target adapted to provide a visual positioning targeting cue; and one or more latch interfaces dimensioned to releasably mate with a corresponding lead-in guide of the plurality of lead-in guides.

The disclosed couplers operate in a 'near field' mode, meaning energy, whether used to transmit data or power, is transferred through magnetic induction using a &#x2202;i/&#x2202;t circuit (meaning a change in current over a change in time), such as by using inductive transmission and receive coils in which resistors and/or other components such as diodes are placed into series and/or in parallel with the coils and used to control the shape of the pulse, e.g. its voltage and/or frequency. In embodiments, the connectors are use to couple a power source to a power receptor.

A manipulator joint includes an encoder having a body and shaft. The encoder body may be fixed to a first housing and the encoder shaft may be fixed to a second housing. The second housing is separate from, distal to, and rotatable with respect to the first housing. Rotation of the second housing may be about a common axis shared with the first housing. A hollow driveshaft, rotatably coupled to the second housing, extends across the joint from the second to the first housing. A torque limiter may be fixedly coupled to the second housing and releasably coupled to the driveshaft. The encoder may be configured to output an absolute angular position of the first housing with respect to the second housing. A method of detecting an over-torque condition of the manipulator joint includes transmitting commands from a processor to the drive motor and receiving data from the encoder.

The present invention is directed to a x-y-axis device and a x-y-z-axis device for micro-manipulating or positioning a crystal for x-ray diffraction. More specifically, the devices which may be placed on the head on a goniometer have small footprints (small in size). The sample may be moved and recorded in step resolutions of 1 micron over an extended range of motion.

Piezoelectric circuit

In accordance with the present invention, a pumping unit (10) is disclosed. The pumping unit includes shell structures (20, 22) each having a diaphragm (32, 38) therein to divide the pumping chamber within the structure into first and second compartments. One-way valves permit material to travel from an inlet source to the first compartment and from the first compartment to an outlet source. Deflection of diaphrams provides the impetus to draw material to the first compartment from the inlet source and drive the material to the outlet source. The motion of the diaphrams is induced by a reciprocating piston assembly (94) within a cylinder (84). The motion acts through intermediate chambers (110, 112) filled with pumping fluid and acting on the opposite side of the diaphrams from the first compartments. This permits isolation of the piston from the material being moved to prevent contamination. Limit sensors (126, 128) may be provided to sense the limits of the piston assembly reciprocation for reversing motion of the piston assembly.
