The control system () controls (i) the illumination source () to generate the illumination beam during the first capture time, (ii) the image sensor () during the first capture time to capture first information for the first spectral image (A), and (iii) the beam path adjuster () to selectively adjust the incident sample beam path () relative to the sample () during the first capture time while the image sensor () is accumulating the information for the first spectral image (A).

Low-noise spectroscopic imaging system with steerable substantially coherent illumination

A system and method for perfusing an organ with a normothermic extracorporeal perfusion system is disclosed. The perfusion system is an active flow system using a centrifugal pump to aid in circulation. The system includes a dialyzer that removes excess fluid and impurities, while maintaining the pH, which allows the perfusion system to be used for an extended period that may exceed 24 hours. The system includes a parallel circuit, which includes at least one centrifugal pump, a membrane oxygenator comprising a heat exchanger; a dialyzer; a measurement cell for real-time monitoring of oxygen saturation and hematocrit in the liver; more than one flow probe; and an organ chamber.

Systems and methods for normothermic extracorporeal organ perfusion

An assembly () for analyzing a sample () includes a detector assembly (); a tunable laser assembly (); and (iii) a laser controller (F). The detector assembly () has a linear response range () with an upper bound (A) and a lower bound (B). The tunable laser assembly () is tunable over a tunable range, and includes a gain medium (B) that generates an illumination beam () that is directed at the detector assembly (). The laser controller (F) dynamically adjusts a laser drive to the gain medium (B) so that the illumination beam () has a substantially constant optical power at the detector assembly () while the tunable laser assembly () is tuned over at least a portion of the tunable range.

Laser power adjustment during tuning to compensate for detector response and varying background absorption

A spectral imaging device () for generating an image (A) of a sample () includes (i) an image sensor (); (ii) a tunable light source () that generates an illumination beam () that is directed at the sample (); (iii) an optical assembly () that collects light from the sample () and forms an image of the sample () on the image sensor (); and (iv) a control system () that controls the tunable light source () and the image sensor (). During a time segment, the control system () (i) controls the tunable light source () so that the illumination beam () has a center wavenumber that is modulated through a first target wavenumber with a first modulation rate; and (ii) controls the image sensor () to capture at least one first image at a first frame rate. Further, the first modulation rate is equal to or greater than the first frame rate.

A reinforcement assembly for use in the hand access hole of a tubular shaft. In one embodiment, the assembly includes a pair of units placed opposing each other with one being inside the shaft and the other being outside the shaft. Each unit has a plurality of tenons that mate with open spaces of the opposing unit, and each has a flange surrounding the tenons that contact the shaft in the area immediately surrounding the hand hole. The two units are attached to each other and to the shaft by bolts or other suitable fastening devices. In another embodiment of this invention, the pair of units are positioned one inside the other with at least one mating mortise and tenon union for securely linking the units. A typical application of the assembly is reinforcement of the area surrounding the hand hole of a utility pole.

Method and apparatus for joining a first structural element, having a passageway formed therein which opens to the exterior thereof, to a second element. A plurality of members are assembled into a joining device which is then nested inside of the passageway. The members are then moved with respect to each other to enlarge the size of the joining device so that the members engage the wall of the passageway in supporting contact therewith. The members of the enlarged joining device are then secured together into a unitary support block, with the members in supporting contact with the passageway wall. The unitary support block is connected to the second element. Unique member components, member securing means, member moving means, and the like form a new and useful apparatus.

Apparatus for joining structural components

An improved electrostatically-focused image intensifier tube, and a night vision device having such a tube, is substantially free of the spurious bright spots generally known as 'PC Flash'. The improved image intensifier tube includes an insulator which resists emission of electrons into the interior cavity of the tube, or a structure to capture such emitted electrons before they can fall into a microchannel plate of the tube and cause the PC Flash. A method of making such an image intensifier tube is also disclosed.
