An attachment for a spraying device which permits spraying to be performed in small spaces and has both bendable and retractable features is provided. An inverted L-shaped portion has a top side and a bottom side. The bottom side is connected to a vacuum hose. The top side is attached to a bendable top hose which includes an internal bendable coaxial tubing which terminates at a nozzle. A removable support engages the nozzle at the end of the top hose. The rear of the coaxial tubing includes an attachment to the spraying device. The top hose and support permit the spraying attachment to spray hard to reach areas. The nozzle support is removable, permitting the top hose to be retracted about the coaxial tubing, freeing the nozzle to access even harder to reach areas. The attachment can evacuate any spray particulates which do not affix to the workpiece.

Attachment for a spraying device for use in small places with evacuation of particulates

An attachment to be employed with any spray device is disclosed. The attachment includes four vanes which are radially attached to an air hub with a central aperture, the central aperture adapted to receive the front portion of the spray device therethrough which when activated dispenses an atomizable substance in a pattern toward a workpiece. At the distal end of each of the four vanes, the vane is angled forward such that it generally points toward the workpiece. At the terminal end of each vane is a plurality of compressed air exit apertures. A compressed air source is attached to the air hub which guides the air through air conduits interiorly disposed within each of the vanes, where the compressed air is forced to exit each of the compressed air exit apertures forming an a second pattern which surrounds the atomizable substance pattern, and further boosts or pushes the atomizable substance onto the workpiece. The second pattern reduces overspray, bounce-back, and errant particles, and improves the transfer efficiency of the substance to the workpiece.

Attachment to improve transfer efficiency for a spraying device

An attachment to be employed with any spray device is disclosed. The present invention provides a portable system for capturing airborne pollutants and methods for using the portable system. The apparatus includes at least one flexible and maneuverable source containment means that can be connected to an atomizer, such as a spray gun or aerosol can or can be positioned near or over an open container giving off airborne pollutants. At least one suction generator allows air flow from the source containment means to at least one filter that may be attached or detached from its source of suction. After filtration, the apparatus includes at least one exhaust means to remove the treated air from the proximity of the user.

Portable system for capturing air pollution

The invention is an airborne contamination control system with a main device unit and a remote unit. The main airborne contamination control unit is a cabinet including a motor in communication with an air treatment path. The main unit has a variety of configurations. The main unit has the capability to be connected to any of a plurality of lightweight remote units, depending on the specific application. These remote units are highly portable and of a small dimension which permits them to be employed in areas inaccessible to the main unit. The main unit is connected to the remote unit by an elongated and flexible duct. Both the main unit and remote unit have a general cabinet structure with mounting structure designed to receive dual or single articulated suction ducts thereon. The articulated suction ducts may be placed proximal a work piece which is being coated, abraded or treated by spraying. The articulated suction ducts collect overspray and errant particles and transports them to and through a filter located in the main unit. The filtered air is then exhausted through an exhaust port on the main unit. An elongated duct may be connected to the exhaust port to transport the air to a distant location. The invention permits the main unit to be employed independently on easily accessible locations as well as in conjunction with the remote unit in difficult to reach locations. The remote unit may further be adapted to other configurations which would increase its utility.

This invention increases the flow of breathable air from an air pump to an enclosure such as a hood or enclosed structure without requiring an increase in the air pump output. The invention involves interposing an jet venturi induction pump in the conduit between the air pump and the enclosure. Breathable filtered, muffled, and metered ambient air is induced into the jet venturi induction pump, thereby increasing the flow of breathable air into the enclosure without an increase in the air pump output. An apparatus is disclosed which uses a high volume low pressure air curtain in an 'air chisel' to inhibit and reduce the bounceback and overspray of material sprayed on a work surface. The air chisel directs a lateral air curtain along each side of a plume of sprayed material parallel to the long axis of the plume and directed toward the contact of plume and work surface. An air chisel may be attached to a spray gun or may be mounted on a stand adjacent to the work surface. Any source of high volume low pressure air may serve to provide air to an air chisel.

Frequent cleaning, maintenance, and or replacement of spray guns is necessary for good performance, but cleaning is often neglected because of difficulty in reaching the crucial parts to be cleaned. The spray gun of this invention has a fluid flow assembly which may be readily removed to facilitate cleaning. In addition, this spray gun has an external fluid flow assembly packing gland adjustment nut, which allows frequent convenient adjustment of the packing gland without disassembly of the spray gun. This allows the user to maintain free movement of the needle valve shaft while preventing leakage of fluid into the spray gun body.
