An injection site platform for use in adding a needle-injected medication to a parenteral fluid being provided to a patient includes a base which has an outlet port of a size and shape to receive a needle-piercible resealable diaphragm. The platform consists of the base member and a port member and when these two elements are assembled together they apply a compressive holding force on the needle-piercible resealable diaphragm. The platform includes one or more sockets which are of a size and shape to hold a hypodermic needle sheath. The sockets each include a plurality of arms which are flexible so that the socket may hold difference size and shape needle sheaths.

Injection site platform

An injection site platform for use in adding a needle injected medication to a parenteral fluid being provided to a patient includes a base and an outlet port of a size and shape to receive a needle piercable resealable diaphragm. There is a conical wall which connects the outlet with the base, with the smaller diameter portion of the conical wall being integral with the outlet and the larger diameter portion terminating at the base. The conical wall provides a needle guide to the diaphragm positioned in the outlet and access for the application of an antiseptic wipe to the diaphragm. A portion of the platform has an opening for a tube carrying parenteral fluid, whereby the tube may be manually constricted by pressing it against the platform adjacent the opening.

In the process for preparing methyl tert.-alkyl ether comprising the steps of (a) contacting and reacting in the liquid phase a reaction mixture formed by combining a stream consisting essentially of C.sub.4 -C.sub.5 hydrocarbons and containing at least some proportion of isoalkylene and a stoichiometric excess of methanol, with respect to the isoalkylene, to form a reaction product comprising methyl tert.-alkyl ether, unreacted methanol and unreacted C.sub.4 -C.sub.5 hydrocarbons; (b) isolating the methyl tert.-alkyl ether from the reaction product; and (c) recovering the unreacted methanol from the residual portion of the reaction product; the improvement which comprises selectively adsorbing the methanol constituent of said residual reaction product in a bed of crystalline molecular sieve adsorbent and recovering same by desorption using as a purge-desorption stream, the C.sub.4 -C.sub.5 hydrocarbon stream used to prepare the initial reaction mixture.

Process for preparing ethers

The internal corrosion of metal mufflers used in conjunction with internal combustion engines is substantially retarded by maintaining in the external void space thereof an adsorbent mass of a combination of crystalline zeolites having the crystal structure of chabazite and the crystal structure of faujasite. These adsorbent compositions exhibit a synergistic effect on corrosion retardation. Novel muffler devices per se are also disclosed.

Adsorbent composition useful in retarding corrosion in mufflers

A storm window latch mechanism which permits easy removal of a storm window sash when the latch mechanism is placed in one position and yet positively secures said storm window sash within the mounting framework when the latch mechanism is in a second position with freely slidable up and down movement being permitted. The latch mechanism includes a spring slider assembly having a low friction slide component mounted on the face thereof, with retention prongs provided on each of the respective ends of the spring member for engagement in appropriate apertures of the window sash, and a positive acting lever and bias spring structure connected to the middle portion of the resilient flexible spring member for actuation thereof. The lever portion is provided with two adjustment recesses which cooperate with a properly configured channel member mountable upon the edge channel of the window sash. A cooperating coil spring positively biases the latching lever into locked position whenever it is not being manipulated by an operator of the window sash. All of the components may be easily manufactured and assembled, and are relatively inexpensive.
