The processing circuitry is configured to receive a plurality of time series data at the communication adapter from an engine control of the gas turbine engine, record a plurality of internal sensor data of the internal sensor system, correlate the time series data with the internal sensor data based on an alignment in time to form an enhanced data set, and transmit the enhanced data set from the communication adapter to an offboard system.

An engine system for an aircraft includes a first gas turbine engine, a second gas turbine engine, and a control system. The control system is configured to operate the first gas turbine engine with an idle fuel burn schedule in a taxi mode of the aircraft and dry crank the second gas turbine engine in a first pre-takeoff portion of the taxi mode to cool the second gas turbine engine absent fuel burn by the second gas turbine engine. The control system operates the second gas turbine engine with a sub-idle fuel burn schedule in a second pre-takeoff portion of the taxi mode of the aircraft. The sub-idle fuel burn schedule includes a reduction of the idle fuel burn schedule. A fuel flow of the first gas turbine engine and the second gas turbine engine is increased above the idle fuel burn schedule prior to takeoff of the aircraft.

The processing circuitry is configured to establish communication with the engine control on a first communication bus using system credential authentication, establish communication between the engine control and the data storage system on a second communication bus, establish wireless communication with the offboard system using system credential authentication, and provide access from the offboard system through the engine gateway, from the engine gateway through the engine control, and from the engine control to the data storage system to enable one or more updates of the data storage system by the offboard system based on service credential authentication.
