Agricultural bag filling machine

A livestock feed bagging machine includes a wheeled chassis having a feed stock receiving trough extending transversely across the front. An auger in the trough distributes the feed stock to a toothed drum which forces ground feed stock through comb fingers into a compression and shaping compartment. Compacted feed stock moves from the compression and shaping compartment through a feed stock discharge section into a flexible bag. An adjustable brake retards the movement of the chassis in a controlled reactive response to the discharge of feed stock into the bag.

Animal feed bagging apparatus

A method for folding a tube into radially superimposed accordian pleats in which the tube is first placed in tubular form and clamped against radial and longitudinal movement at circumferentially spaced zones adjacent an open end of the tube. A first annular band of the tube is then forced radially outwardly and longitudinally to a position radially outwardly of the clamped zones, and is connected by a bight to the remainder of the tube, a part of which forms a second annular band lying radially outwardly from the first band. The two annular bands and the part of the tube containing the spaced zones are then clamped against radial and longitudinal movement, and a series of additional pairs of bands are then sequentially formed radially outwardly from the second band in the same way that said first and second bands are formed, with periodic clamping of all of said bands against radial and longitudinal movement occurring after each additional pair of bands is formed. The invention is also directed to an apparatus for placing radially superimposed accordian pleats in a tube which includes a forming structure to hold the tube in a distended tubular form while it is alternately contacted by a series of clamping fingers and a series of pleat folding fingers, which latter fingers function to move sections of the bag radially outwardly and longitudinally into a configuration constituting radially superimposed bands.

Bag and tube folding method and apparatus

An agricultural bag loading machine having an improved mechanical assembly for automatically effecting controlled, continuous compression and delivery of compacted animal feed material into a flexible agricultural storage bag via a compression and delivery chamber. The compressed, delivered feed material has a uniform, air tight side wall density throughout the bag-delivered, sausage shaped feed material mass. The loading machine has additional features, including a pneumatic bladder assembly for changing the forming chamber dimensions and configuration, an improved agricultural bag attachment and continuous feeding mechanism which eliminates bag fold-over and wrinkling problems during filling, and an integral forming chamber cleanout mechanism which enables clearing and cleaning of the forming chamber at the end of an agricultural bag loading operation.

Agricultural bag loading machine

In a method and apparatus for manufacturing two-ply agricultural storage bags, two supplies (36, 38) of flexible tubular materials are positioned on opposite sides of feed wheels (26) mounted on a generally cylindrical frame structure (24). The inner material (36a) from the first supply (36) extends through the frame (24) and outwardly around the feed wheels (26). The outer material (38a) from the second supply (38) extends around the feedwheels (26) in surrounding engagement over the inner material (36a). Actuation of the feedwheels (26) effects simultaneous advancement of the materials (36a, 38a) around the frame (24) so that a bag can be collected at the lower end of the frame.

Method and apparatus for manufacturing an agricultural bag

In an agricultural bag loading apparatus (10), a primary shaft (52) has a plurality of teeth (46). Rotation of the primary shaft (52) causes the teeth (46) to force silage into an agricultural bag (12). Silage is fed toward the shaft (52) by the rotation of a feeder shaft (60) having a plurality of angle irons (62) mounted thereon. The brake force of a brake (110) is applied through a drum (20), a cable (18), and a backstop (16) to the end of the agricultural bag (12) to control the degree of silage compression within the bag.
