The intention of this invention, a nasal dilator, is disclosed for internal positioning within each single nostril, providing an unobstructed through air passage, between the Maxilla and the exterior septal cartilage. An open framework is disclosed for positioning internally within and dilating both nostrils together, and is constructed as two connected elongated loops, having two posterior ends extending beyond the bone structure, or, Maxilla, and two anterior ends, connected by the convex handle. Since every nostril is sensitive, and has unique dimensions, even on the same person, and the septum can be wider or narrower, the device material is flexible, but upon squeezing or expanding the posterior ends of the elongated loop ends or of the connecting member-convex handle, by finger pressure, the device will retain an altered flexible shape, to increase or decrease the nasal openings for comfort, as desired.

Apparatus for maintaining open nasal airflow

A vehicle tire cleaning system comprises a support grate, configured to enable positioning of a tire of a vehicle thereupon. The support grate is capable of supporting a load of the tire thereupon while the tire is mounted to the vehicle. A plurality of openings is formed in the support grate. A carrier is moveable with respect to the support grate. A plurality of abrading elements is coupled to the carrier and each is extendable through the openings. The abrading elements are operable to abrade the tire supported by the support grate as the tire and the abrading elements move relative to each another.

Vehicle tire cleaning system

A pressure differential-driven engine comprises an outer pressurizable enclosure and an actuator enclosure, disposed within the outer enclosure. An actuator is disposed within the actuator enclosure and a portion of the actuator and the actuator enclosure cooperatively define a pressurizable cavity cyclable between a first, high pressure state, and a second, low pressure state. The actuator and actuator enclosure are collectively restrained by at least one rail to linear, slidable motion within the outer enclosure. The engine is operable to output usable energy as the pressurizable cavity cycles between the first and second pressure states.

Pressure differential-driven engine

A pressure differential-driven engine () includes an outer pressurizable enclosure (). A pressure barrier plate () is disposed within the outer pressurizable enclosure and an actuator enclosure () is disposed adjacent the pressure barrier plate and has an actuator () disposed therein. The actuator has a high pressure exposure surface () forming an oblique angle with respect to the pressure barrier plate. The pressure barrier plate, a bottom of the actuator, and the actuator enclosure cooperatively define a pressurizable cavity () cyclable between a first, high pressure state, and a second, low pressure state. The actuator and actuator enclosure are collectively slidable relative to the barrier plate in reaction to cycling of the pressurizable cavity between the first and second pressure states to produce usable translational energy.

A layered directional coupler including conductive traces placed along predetermined axes for making contact with main and auxiliary signal lines. The axes are positioned at predetermined angles relative to each other to maximize the area for making contact thereto, which minimizes the size of the directional coupler. Ground planes are used to minimize parasitic coupling between the traces. The main and auxiliary signal lines are provided by inductively coupled juxtapositioned spiral coils which coupling maximize the characteristics of the coupler.

Miniature directional coupler

An improved squelch circuit which utilizes a phase-locked-loop (PLL) arrangement to track the carrier signal and identify when audio communication should be curtailed. The lock detect circuit of the PLL is used for a signal-to-noise monitor. As the loop locks and unlocks, the lock detect line pulses. These pulses are integrated to give a direct current (DC) level. This DC level is proportional to the signal-to-noise ratio of the carrier signal. The signal-to-noise level is monitored by the squelch gate until a threshold is passed. Falling below the threshold results in a squelching of the audio, when the ratio exceeds the threshold, then audio is commenced. The circuit is enhanced by the ability to automatically adjust the threshold level once the PLL has locked onto the signal. Further, in some embodiments of the invention, the PLL also adjusts its bandwidth if the receiver's bandwidth is changed, thereby allowing the PLL to monitor the signal and not open and close the squelch intermittently when the signal strength is only marginal.

Automatic squelch control for narrow band AM radio

Apparatus for monitoring the status of and controlling faults at remotely-located components in a single line communications system wherein return data signals from the components are transmitted in the 50 kHz to 200 kHz range, and coupled to the low pass filters commonly used to bypass the active components, thereby permitting the return of signals to the system head-end.

Apparatus for monitoring a communications system

An audio signal to color pattern display signal converter-modulator includes an input audio signal section, four frequency band filters, horizontal sync and sweep circuitry, vertical sync and sweep circuitry, a pulse width modulator section, a level converter-modulator matrix, a chroma encoder circuit section and a chroma and luminance modulator and video output circuit section. The pulse width modulator section includes a CMOS NAND gate associated with each of the four frequency band filters, each NAND gate and each filter combination corresponding to a different primary display color. Each NAND gate has one input coupled to an output voltage signal from its corresponding filter section and the other NAND gate input is coupled to a sine wave signal. There are four such sine wave signals each sequentially phase shifted by 90.degree. from the preceding adjacent sine wave. The resulting pattern, which is displayed on a television receiver, is a vertical stack of four elliptical areas (when all four NAND gates are turned on) each area being of a different color. As the particular audio signal within each frequency band increases and decreases in amplitude, the corresponding elliptical area increases and decreases about a center point causing adjacent elliptical areas to overlap thereby creating color blending.
