A method of retro-fitting an existing luminaire housing comprises the steps of removing lighting components from the existing housing, fastening a first powertray retaining assembly to an end cap of the existing housing, fastening a second powertray retaining assembly to a second end cap of the existing troffer, telescoping a powertray to a size allowing the powertray to be moved through an opening in the existing housing, inserting the powertray through the opening in the existing housing and retaining the powertray on one of the first and second retaining assemblies, telescoping the powertray to engage the other of the first and second retaining assemblies and, positioning a diffuser in the troffer. A retro-fit luminaire assembly is also disclosed.

A relocatable add-on control sensor module is described which electrically connects and controls at least one recessed light fixture. The add-on control sensor module includes a sensor ethernet socket that may be electrically connected by an ethernet cable to a light fixture ethernet socket of the at least one recessed light fixture so that the add-on control sensor module may control the at least one recessed light fixture.

A fluorescent luminaire has a luminaire housing, a lens frame positioned within the luminaire housing, the lens frame having a first side frame member and a second side frame member connected to a first end frame member and a second end frame member, a flexible plastic lens having a length, wherein a distance between the first and second side frames is less than the length of the plastic lens and, wherein the lens curves from the flat orientation to a curved orientation when seated between the first and second side frames corresponding to curvature of the first and second end frames.

An air-handling luminaire comprises a recessed troffer housing having a first pair of opposed walls and a second pair of opposed walls, the housing having a light output opening and a lens extending across the light output opening, at least one of the walls of the first pair of opposed walls and the second pair of opposed walls being substantially vertical and having at least one flow through opening for fluid communication from a volume beneath the recessed troffer housing to a plenum above the recessed troffer housing and, a rail extending from near a lower edge of the recessed troffer housing upwardly within the recessed troffer housing and adjacent the at least one flow through and concealing the at least one flow through opening.

A relocate able add-on control sensor module is described which electrically connects and controls at least one recessed light fixture. The relocate able add-on control module is mounted to a suspended ceiling t-bar grid and can be positioned anywhere in the ceiling grid while still controlling one or more recessed lighting fixtures. The control sensor module containing at least one sensor controlling light output of at least one recessed lighting fixture based on human occupancy, light intensity or both.

A fluorescent lighting fixture utilizing a printed circuit board as an electronic ballast. The printed circuit board ballast includes outlet pins which are directly mounted and connected to the lampholders, thereby to minimize or eliminate a number of wires running between the ballast and lampholders.

End mount ballast- socket bridge

The apparatus is a light fixture with end reflectors inwardly adjacent to and at an acute angle to the shorter ends thereof. A U-shaped fluorescent bulb is inwardly adjacent to the end reflectors and at a similar acute angle to the shorter ends of the light fixture. Front reflectors rise at a gentle angle at points inwardly adjacent from the bulbs and meet at an apex therebetween. An upper reflector is inwardly adjacent from the top of the fixture.

Task-oriented light fixture for a workspace

A fluorescent lighting fixture is provided with an assembly housing on the top thereof formed of sidewalls and a removable cover and endcaps. When the cover and endcaps are removed, sequential end-on-end placement of a plurality of the fluorescent lighting fixtures causes a channel to be formed into which a continuous common electrical power line is placed. Each ballast assembly communicates with the electrical power line.

The apparatus is a modular medical lighting system which includes a ceiling-mounted reading light module, examination light module, ambient light module, and a night light module. The reading light is directed toward a selected reading area on a hospital bed directly below the medical lighting system. The examination light illuminates the entire top surface of the hospital bed. The ambient light directs light to a wall abutting the head of the hospital bed thereby providing reflected light to the vicinity of the hospital bed. The night light directs light to a selected side of the bed so as to light a nurse's medical chart clipboard without disturbing the patient. The modules may be provided separately or in combination.
