In an example, a method may include a configuration file being provided to a first device from a network server. The configuration file may be provided after establishment of a first wireless connection over a wireless network between the first device and the network server. The configuration file may direct the first device to establish a virtual bridge and the network server may be configured to map a first tunnel and/or a second tunnel to the virtual bridge. The configuration file may further direct the first device to establish the first tunnel between the virtual bridge and the network server. The configuration file may also direct the first device to establish the second tunnel within the first tunnel. The second tunnel may be established. The method may also include facilitating communications between the first device and a second device via the virtual bridge using the second tunnel.

Mesh network using transparent tunneling over a wireless network

End user on demand network resource instantiation in software-defined networks (SDN) may be provided by an SDN controller that receives an indication from a physical boost device operated by a network user. The boost device may indicate to the SDN controller that an improvement in network performance is desired by the network user. Once the indication is received, the SDN controller may implement network configuration changes for the improvement and cause the network user to be billed for the improvement.

End user on demand network resource instantiation

A wireless virtual private network (VPN) connection may be automatically instantiated from a wireless VPN client device using a VPN instantiation server. The VPN client device may automatically connect to the VPN instantiation server to obtain client configuration information for a VPN connection to a VPN endpoint server. The VPN instantiation server may instantiate the VPN endpoint server using a network function virtualization (NFV) platform. Then, the VPN client may establish a layer 2 tunnel across a wireless network to the VPN endpoint server.
