A flush bolt mechanism adapted to be mounted at the vertical edge of the inactive door of a pair of hinged doors. Means are provided to prevent damage to the mechanism due to misalignment of the bolt and the strike plate. All translational motion of the mechanism substantially takes place along a single axis except for the motion of activation.

Flush bolt

A door closing coordinator for a pair of oppositely hinged doors where closure of the inactive door withdraws a stopping member from a holding lever for the active door and permits the active door to close after the inactive door. An override mechanism is provided to permit the active door to close first if a predetermined force is applied thereto to avoid damage to the active door.

Door coordinator

A surface bolt which is latched against retraction when in a latching position and requires movement transverse to its length in order to unlatch the bolt for retraction.

Surface bolt

A self-latching flush bolt for use in the inactive door of a pair of swinging doors, the bolt being on a slide rod which is spring actuated to throw the bolt into engagement with the strike when the trigger is contacted by the active door. A dead-locking lever holds the bolt locked as long as the trigger is depressed; when the active door is opened the bolt may be manually retracted and will be held in retracted position until the trigger is activated. A roller on the bottom bolt rolls on the floor in case the bolt is thrown with the door in an open position.

Self-latching flush bolt

An automatic surface bolt for doors swinging in pairs having a stop to hold the active door open until the inactive door is closed and a top bolt which is actuated by movement of the stop to lock the inactive door as the active door completes its closing movement, the inactive door having also a bottom bolt arranged to be actuated by the top bolt so that the door is bolted top and bottom when both doors are closed; both bolts holding the inactive door are automatically released when the active door is opened.
