A ready to fly airplane formed from plastic with an upper portion and a lower portion which are joined together and covered with a thin film. Supporting structure is formed within the upper portion and the lower portion. The horizontal tail surfaces may pivot about a horizontal plane when controlled by an external control. A method of manufacture is described.

Flyable plastic airplane and method of manufacture

The present invention provides a computerized exercise system and method allowing exercising in both a gravity field and a gravity free environment. The exercise system includes one or more exercise modules positioned at specific locations and coupled to an exercise member through an extendable cable extending between each exercise module and one or more exercise members. A controlling structure controls tension forces in each of the cables for generating desired resistive forces in the exercise member at each point of its trajectory, simultaneously moving through a trajectory, defined by exercise parameters. When a user performs an exercise routine, he/she moves the exercise member and overcomes the resistive forces elevated by the exercise modules through the controlled tension forces in each cable.

A multi-terrain amphibious vehicle adapted for travel across surfaces of various type and attributes is provided. The vehicle includes a chassis assembly (10) which extends in a longitudinal direction; a plurality of propulsion members rotatably coupled to that chassis assembly for propelling the vehicle across a given surface; and, a control mechanism for controlling the rotational velocities and phases of the propulsion members. The propulsion members each rotate about an axis that extends in a direction substantially normal to the longitudinal direction. Each propulsion member includes, for engaging the given surface, at least a first perimeter segment and a second perimeter segment coaxially disposed in angularly offset manner about its rotation axis. The first perimeter segment has an arcuate contour and extends radially farther from the rotation axis than does the second perimeter segment. In operation, the propulsion members are cooperatively rotated to collectively impart a predetermined speed and direction of travel to the vehicle.

Multi-terrain amphibious vehicle

An air lifted motion isolation system (100) includes a support structure or pod (110) for supporting equipment and/or personnel to be isolated from the motion of a waterborne craft (102). The support structure is coupled to the waterborne craft structure by a pivotal coupling assembly (120), permitting the support structure to be displaced both vertically and laterally. The motion of the support structure is stabilized by a lift producing body (130) disposed in the air above the waterborne craft and coupled to the support structure by a tether (112) for applying a substantially vertically directed force thereto. The pivotal coupling assembly (120) includes a plurality of pivotal coupling elements (122, 154) for buttressing the support structure above the structure of the waterborne craft. Each of the pivotal coupling elements (122, 154) may provide dampening to further stabilize and isolate the motion of the support structure from that of the waterborne craft. The lift producing body (130) may be formed by a parasail-type structure or a more rigid winged structure and incorporate a control system (160, 170) for altering the lift characteristic thereof.

Air lifted motion isolation system and method therefor

A striation monitor and display system (10) is provided which includes a positional location mechanism (20) for locating a substantially cylindrically contoured object such as a bullet (14). The bullet or object (14) is inserted within a collet mechanism (48) mounted above a cup member (44) containing a compliant matrix (46). A portion of the object (14) is inserted along an axis line (24) of the rotating cup (44). A line scan camera (62) is focused on a section of the object (14) and frame speed is synchronized with the rotation of the rotating cup (44). Synchronization is accomplished by a closed feedback loop between a motor/encoder integral combination (58/60) and a processor system (72) for maintaining synchronization between images photographed by line scan camera (62) and rotational speed of motor (58).

Striation monitor and display system and method

A tow vehicle system which includes a vehicle chassis, a vehicle drive mechanism and a power actuating mechanism for driving a wheel member in frictional engagement with a base surface. The tow vehicle system includes a pair of batteries which are mounted on opposing sides of a drive axle of wheel member. A motor member is mounted in vertical aligned relation with respect to drive axle to maintain a longitudinally balanced weight relation of the tow vehicle system about drive axle. In this manner, maneuverability and control of tow vehicle system is optimized.

Tow vehicle system

A medicament discharging device and an expendable clip thereon containing a plurality of medicament cartridges. Each of the cartridges comprises a container, a dosage of medicament in the container, a hypodermic needle sealingly contained in a sterile condition in cooperating relation with the container and a movable wall means at one end of the container operable when moved through a discharging stroke to cause the sharpened end of the needle to move outwardly out of sealingly contained relation and into the muscle tissue of a patient and the medicament dosage to move outwardly of the container into the opposite end of the needle and out of the sharpened end thereof into the muscle tissue of the patient. The medicament discharging device comprises a portable manually engageable housing structure defining a medicament cartridge receiving station, a plunger mounted in the housing structure for movement through the medicament cartridge receiving station in repetitive operative cycles each of which includes a discharging stroke in one direction and a return stroke in the opposite direction, a manually actuatable mechanism for effecting movement of the plunger through an operative cycle, and a releasable connection between the housing structure and the clip for securing the same in operative relation so that successive cartridges in the clip will be presented in the medicament cartridge receiving station of the housing structure for injection in response to an operative cycle.
