A system for manufacturing an orthodontic appliance. A scanner for creating a numerical three-dimensional initial reference model of at least a part of a patient's arch including one or more teeth. An image acquisition device for acquiring at least one two-dimensional updated image of the arch. The image acquisition device is positioned and oriented in space, relative to the teeth, under actual acquisition conditions. A computer for creating a numerical three-dimensional objective reference model, corresponding to a desired positioning, at a time point of a treatment, of the teeth, and deforming the initial reference model by moving one or more teeth of the initial reference model, to obtain an updated reference model corresponding to the positioning of the teeth on the two-dimensional updated image. A device for manufacturing an orthodontic appliance, based on a comparison, executed by the computer, between the updated reference model and the objective reference model.

Dentition control method

A method for monitoring the positioning of the teeth including production of a three-dimensional digital initial reference model of the arches of the patient and, for each tooth, definition, from the initial reference model, of a three-dimensional digital reference tooth model; acquisition of updated image of at least one two-dimensional image of the arches in actual acquisition conditions; analysis of each updated image and production, for each updated image, of an updated map; optionally, determination, for each updated image, of rough virtual acquisition conditions approximating the actual acquisition conditions; searching, for each updated image, for a final reference model corresponding to the positioning of the teeth during the acquisition of the updated image, for each tooth model, comparison of the positionings of the tooth model in the initial reference model and in the reference model obtained at the end of the preceding steps to determine the movement of the teeth.

Method for monitoring an orthodontic treatment

A method for adjusting/monitoring an orthodontic appliance worn by a patient. Creating a numerical three-dimensional reference model of at least a part of a patient's arch. Creating a numerical three-dimensional reference model of the teeth of the at least a part of the patient's arch. Acquiring at least one updated image, under actual acquisition conditions, and searching, by deformation of the initial reference model, for an updated reference model corresponding to the positioning of the teeth during the acquisition of the updated image. Determining, depending a comparison model corresponding to an anticipated positioning of the teeth, a comparison model. Comparing the updated reference model with the comparison model. If comparison leads to an unsatisfactory result, creation of a replacement orthodontic appliance, by modification of the orthodontic appliance worn or by creation of a new orthodontic appliance, the replacement orthodontic appliance being configured accordingly.

An acquisition kit, including: a mouthpiece intended for being placed into the mouth of a patient and including a reference mark; and an image-acquisition apparatus including a screen for viewing an image that can be acquired, computer memory containing information on target acquisition conditions, and a computer program comprising program code instructions for displaying on said screen a reference in a position such that, when the reference mark matches the reference on the screen, the acquisition apparatus complies with the target acquisition conditions.

Monitoring of dentition

A method for monitoring the shape of teeth including: producing a three-dimensional digital model of at least one portion of an arch of the patient or 'initial reference model'; acquiring at least one two-dimensional image of the arches, referred to as 'updated image', under actual acquisition conditions; analysing each updated image and producing an updated map relating to a piece of discriminating information; optionally determining rough virtual acquisition conditions that approximate the actual acquisition conditions; searching each updated image for a final reference model corresponding to the shape of the teeth, and optionally to the positioning of the teeth, during the acquisition of the updated image; and comparing the shapes of the initial reference model and of the reference model obtained at the end of the preceding steps, referred to as &#x201c;final reference model&#x201d;, in order to determine the deformation and/or the movement of teeth between steps a) and b).

Method for monitoring dentition

A method for predicting a future dental situation for a patient. Acquiring historical data including at least: previous time point and context parameter values. Acquiring at a time point all the data related to the current dental situation, including at least: the current time point, context parameter values at the current time point, statistical analysis of the historical data and the current data, so as to predict, at a future time point, at least one future dental situation for the current patient. Depending on the future dental situation, (re)evaluation of the benefit of an orthodontic treatment. Steps may include creating a three-dimensional digital reference model, acquiring at least one two-dimensional image, analysing each updated image and creation, searching, for each updated image, and collecting data relative to the updated reference model and relative to the orthodontic appliance.

Method for predicting a dental situation

A method for monitoring the position of the teeth of a patient includes the following steps: a) modeling a target position of the teeth in the form of a target model; b) after a time interval, modeling an updated position of the teeth in the form of an updated model; c) comparing the target and updated models.

Method for monitoring the position of teeth

A method including an acquisition, with an acquisition apparatus, of at least one two-dimensional image of arches of a patient, called 'updated image', in actual acquisition conditions, a separator separating lips of the patient in order to improve the visibility of patient's teeth, said separator including a register mark, wherein the representation of the register mark on the updated image is used to recut the updated image and/or to roughly assess the actual acquisition conditions and/or to guide the positioning of the acquisition apparatus at the moment of the acquisition of the updated image and/or to identify a dental situation and/or an action to be achieved by the acquisition apparatus.

A method for monitoring a property of the appearance of the teeth of a patient, said method including: A) acquiring, by means of a first acquisition apparatus, at least one first two-dimensional image of said teeth and of a first reference gauge, referred to as 'initial image'; B) acquiring, by means of a second acquisition apparatus, at least one second two-dimensional image of said teeth and of a second reference gauge having the same appearance as the first reference gauge, referred to as 'updated image'; C) standardising the initial and updated images such that the representations of the first and second reference gauges on the standardised initial and updated images have the same appearance; D) before or after step C, marking the same region of the teeth on the initial and updated images; and E) comparing the appearance of said region in the standardised initial and updated images.

Method for monitoring positioning of patient's teeth including the following steps: a) less than three months after the end of an orthodontic treatment, producing an initial reference model of the patient's arches, and, each tooth, defining, from the initial reference model, tooth model; b) acquiring at least one updated image of the arches, under actual acquisition conditions; c) analyzing each updated image and producing, for each updated image, an updated map relative to a piece of discriminating information; d) optionally determining, for each updated image, rough virtual acquisition conditions that approximate actual acquisition conditions; e) searching each updated image for a final reference model corresponding to the teeth positioning during acquisition of the updated image, and; f) for each tooth model, comparing tooth model positions in the initial reference model and in reference model obtained at the end of the preceding steps, in order to determine the movement of the teeth between steps a) and b).

A method for optimizing initial discriminating information extracted from a two-dimensional image of the patient dental arches, referred to as 'acquired image', by a three-dimensional digital reference model of at least one portion of a patient arch, the method including the steps: C1. assessing quality of the initial discriminating information and quality threshold, filtering to keep only the initial discriminating information that has quality higher than the quality threshold, and defining 'the discriminating information to be tested' as the initial discriminating information selected; C2. testing consistency between the discriminating information to be tested and reference model; C3. assessing test result and, in accordance with the assessment: adding discriminating information that was not kept to the discriminating information to be tested and/or deleting discriminating information from the discriminating information to be tested, and then returning to step C2. or; defining the optimal discriminating information as the discriminating information to be tested.

A self-ligating attachment intended to form part of an orthodontic appliance, the external surface of said attachment being provided with a groove for receiving an orthodontic arch. A elastic clip that can be reversibly moved between an open position forming an open passage allowing the insertion of the arch into the groove and a closed position sealing the groove. A base including an external surface that supports the attachment and an occlusal surface which is intended to rest on one of the patient's teeth, so as to hug the surface of the tooth. In addition, the base comprises a support for the attachment and said base assists in the guiding of the clip, cooperating with the attachment, as the clip moves between the open and closed positions.

An assembly of a self-ligating bracket intended to be part of an orthodontic apparatus. The bracket having in the longitudinal direction thereof an outer face and an occlusal face and being provided on the outer face thereof with a groove for holding an orthodontic arch wire. An elastic clip that can be moved in a reversible manner between an open position, leaving a free passage for the insertion of the arch wire into the groove or the extraction of the arch wire from the groove, and a closed position closing off the groove. The clip being moveable between said positions by a rotational movement, without the clip sliding in translation.
