A method may include transmitting first test signals to electrical pathways of a connector-cable interface between a cable and a test circuit board in the absence of and in the presence of mechanical stress applied by a mechanical stressor to the connector-cable interface, performing vector network analysis measurements for one or more electrical parameters based on resultant signals from the electrical pathways resulting from the test signals in the absence of and in the presence of mechanical stress applied by the mechanical stressor to the connector-cable interface, transmitting one or more second test signals to electrical pathways of the connector-cable interface in the presence of mechanical stress applied by the mechanical stressor to the connector-cable interface, and based on differences between the vector network analysis measurements, determining whether or not the connector-cable interface has satisfied signal integrity requirements.

Methods and systems for managing operation of data processing systems are disclosed. The data processing systems may include a limited number of hardware components. To increase the usable number or types of hardware components, an add-in card or other device may be attached to the data processing system. To facilitate connection of a variety of types of devices having varying form factors, an interposer may be used. The data processing system may modify a communication topology based on whether a device or the interposer is connected to it to establish communication channels.

An information handling system includes a printed circuit board, a surface mount connector including first and second surface mount connector portions, first and second different pairs, and a ground plane. The first and second surface mount connector portions are mounted on the printed circuit board. The first differential pair is located on the first surface mount connector portion, and the second differential pair is located on the second surface mount connector portion. The ground plane is located in between the first and second surface mount connector portions within the printed circuit board. The first ground via is in physical communication with the ground plane and a first ground pad on a surface of the printed circuit board. The second ground via is in physical communication with the ground plane and a second ground pad on the surface of the printed circuit board.

Methods and systems for managing operation of data processing systems are disclosed. The data processing systems may include a limited number of hardware components. To increase the usable number or types of hardware components, an add-in card or other device may be attached to the data processing system. When connected to the data processing system, these devices may consume power delivered by the data processing system. The devices may cooperate with the host data processing system so that power is consumed in a manner that is less likely to negatively impact operation of the devices and host system.

A device carrier for an information handling system includes a latch, an interface, lights located on a front of the latch, and first and second light pipes. The latch holds the device carrier within the information handling system. The first light pipes are located within the latch, and provide light to the lights located on the front of the latch. The second light pipes are located within the interface and the latch, and provide the light to the first light pipes. The location of the second light pipes enables the same brightness of the light provided to the lights when a long device is inserted within the device carrier as compared to when a short device is inserted within the device carrier.

A cabling-based airflow routing system includes a chassis that defines a chassis housing. A first heat producing component is located in the chassis housing. A first cabling connector is located in the chassis housing. A second cabling connector that is located in the chassis housing. A first ribbon cable that extends through the chassis housing between the first cabling connector and the second cabling connector. The first ribbon cable includes a first cabling airflow routing portion that is oriented in the chassis housing in an airflow path and that is configured to redirect a first portion of an airflow provided in the airflow path towards the first heat producing component.

A floating device location identification system includes a chassis defining floating device housings and including respective chassis location identification features adjacent each floating device housing that identify the relative location of that floating device housing. A floating device may be positioned in a first floating device housing and adjacent a first chassis location identification feature. The first floating device includes floating device cabling connector(s) that are connected via a cabling subsystem to a device location identification subsystem, and chassis engagement elements that are coupled to the floating device cabling connector(s) and that engage the first chassis location identification feature. The floating device transmits floating device location identifying information to the device location identification subsystem that is based on the engagement of the chassis engagement elements and the first chassis location identification feature, and that identifies a relative location of the first floating device housing in the chassis.

A dual induction apparatus for high volume low pressure spraying systems is provided. The invention includes an atomizing tube with an entrance, a midpoint and an exit. A jet nozzle is connected to the entrance of the atomizing tube. A first plurality of induction ports pass through the sidewalls of the atomizing tube proximal the jet nozzle. The first plurality of induction ports are in communication with ambient air. When the compressed air passes through the jet nozzle a low pressure field is formed causing ambient air to be drawn into the atomizing tube. A venturi element is located inside the atomizing tube in the area about the midpoint to the exit. A tube in communication with the removable venturi element is passed through the sidewall of the atomizing tube. The tube is affixed in a perpendicular fashion to the aperture in the venturi element on its first side and is further connected to a reservoir of paints, powders, solvents or other substances. The tube may be mated to the atomizing tube in a removable sliding lock fashion. By the prior action of compressed air passing through the jet nozzle the low pressure field is formed and is maintained with ambient air having been inducted into the atomizing tube through the first plurality of ports. The pressure at the midpoint of the atomizing tube is also sufficiently low to cause a suction through the tube drawing the atomizable substance from its reservoir into the cylindrical element located along the centerline of the atomizing tube. The liquid drawn through the tube and into the cylindrical element is entrained and atomized into the low pressure air. At this point the atomized substance passes through the atomizing tube exit where it is delivered to its target.

The upper neck adjoins the head, and lower neck adjoins the main body. A flexible member extends between the upper neck and lower neck. The flexible member comprises an upper coil spring and lower coil spring. The dual coil springs allow the head to oscillate in a complex pattern, without manual intervention, to provide the appearance of a living bird to other birds in the vicinity.

A telephone signal or a radio signal is employed to terminate the through flow of gas through a gas meter to enable the flow of gas to a consumer to be terminated from a remote position. In one embodiment, a weighted arm includes a closure member to obturate an opening. The closure member is part of a weighted arm mounted on a rotatable rod bearing a toothed wheel engaged by a pawl which is operated by an electromagnetic arrangement which in turn is controlled by a signal. Provision is made for resetting the arrangement mechanically by the utilization of a key received in the key receiving end of the rotatable rod. In another embodiment, use is made of the fact that the gas meter includes a bellows and rotating arm arrangement. In this embodiment a rod is dropped into a position of interference with the rotating arm thereby to interfere with the flow of gas through the gas meter. In this embodiment resetting is effected by connecting an external power source to an electromagnet within the meter whereby to control the position of the rod which is dropped into interfering position with the rotating arm.
