A construction nailing screw is configured to be used in like manner as traditional nails but rotate during driving through threading, providing retention of the construction nailing screw in the construction material(s), and the ability to be removed from the construction material(s) by reverse rotation. The construction nailing screw is characterized by a shank with a head on one longitudinal end, and a tip on another longitudinal end, with external threading that provides minimal friction during installation and mild resistance during removal, and two cutouts extending along the exterior of the shank and through the external threading. The head allows both a manual installation tool and an automatic installation tool to strike the head and drive (install) the nailing screw. The external threading has an upper side with a high pitch relative to the longitudinal axis of the shank, and a lower side with a low pitch relative to the longitudinal axis of the shank.

Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with shared error searching for web resource requests are described. A web resource request that includes one or more request strings is received and a error detection directive that identifies a first type of error to be located in a specified request string component is accessed. At least a portion of a first request string that corresponds to the specified request string component is searched, in a single pass, for the first type of error and other types of errors. Results with respect to the first error type are returned while occurrences of the first and other types of errors for are recorded for responding to subsequent error detection directives. Thus, a subsequent error detection directive for the other types of errors in the first request string component may be processed without re-searching the portion of the first request string already searched with respect to the first error detection directive.

Shared error searching

A self-adaptive hybrid cache and method of caching data objects. A set of cacheable data objects is partitioned among a set of cooperating caches (e.g., a cache cluster). A hybrid cache is configured to cache data objects that it owns (i.e., objects in its partition) as primary content and to also cache data objects that are owned by other caches as secondary content (e.g., based on demand for such objects). A hybrid cache stores and/or removes objects based on criteria such as validity, popularity, size, age, cost of replacing, amount of available cache space, whether the objects are primary or secondary, etc. Over time, the amount or ratio of primary and secondary data that a hybrid cache stores may fluctuate dynamically.

Self-adaptive hybrid cache

In a client/server computer system, a method for writing modified data in a cache memory back to a database residing in a hard disk drive. Rather than writing back all of the modified data as part of a checkpointing operation, the present invention designates an amount of the cache memory that is to be cleared for a pre-determined time interval. The amount of cache memory to be cleared is based on an estimate of how much new data is anticipated to be cached. Thereby, just enough memory is cleared and made available so as to accommodate the storage of new data. For the modified data which are to be written back to the database, a lazy writeback operation is utilized.
