A barrier system includes at least first and second reinforced concrete posts, each concrete post including at least one conduit formed therethrough having first and second ends and a strain relief sector formed therein at the first end of the conduit. At least one tension cable extends between the posts. The tension cable extends through the conduit of each post and has a cable end secured to the post at the second end of each post's conduit.

Barrier system

A barrier system and method for providing a barrier system are disclosed. The barrier system and method relate to a vehicle and pedestrian barrier system which can be positioned in vehicle and pedestrian passageways adjacent a protected structure or area to preclude the vehicle or the pedestrian from reaching and engaging the protected structure or area.

A rotary valve having inner and outer sleeves includes multiple ports configured to provide pressure and vacuum pulses when the sleeves are rotated with respect to each other. A source of pressure and vacuum is connected to the rotary valve, and the inner sleeve is rotated to generate pressure and vacuum pulses. The alternating pressure and vacuum pulses may be used to remove obstructions in conduits such as piping systems. The rotary valve may also provide static positions where no vacuum or pressure is available. The valve may be motor driven and the pressure/vacuum pulse frequency may be controlled based upon the relative speed of rotation of the sleeves.

Rotary fluid flow valve

A biscuit joiner (,) having a housing (,) which includes a forward portion (,), a handle portion (,) and a rear portion (,). A battery pack (,) is removably secured to the rear portion. The forward portion houses an electric motor (,) and is attached to a shoe assembly (,) and a fence assembly (,). The handle portion includes a stick handle portion (,) and a loop portion (,). Each of the stick handle and loop portions are laterally offset from the forward portion, and therefore from the rotational axis of the motor and the coaxial center of the housing. The stick handle portion is graspable by a user and the lateral offset enables the fingers of the user to be placed in position to exert a force substantially along the longitudinal axis (,) of the motor while engaging an ON/OFF trigger (,) of the joiner. In this manner a more direct application of force can be made by the user to the housing when urging the housing linearly while making plunge cuts with the joiner. The handle construction also provides the joiner with a well balanced, positive &ldquo;feel&rdquo; and enables a wider variety of hand orientations to be used when operating the joiner. The joiner of the present invention is even more comfortable to operate than previously developed stick handle type joiners, even with the additional weight of the removable battery pack, and can therefore reduce the fatigue of the user's hands and arms when the joiner is operated over prolonged periods of time.

Biscuit joiner

A ratchet system includes a 'T' shaped stop-engaging member mounted in a plane perpendicular to a rotating spindle and parallel to a circular carrier member having stop members mounted on the periphrey and rotating with the spindle. The stem of the 'T' member is rotatable mounted in a housing surrounding the spindle and upon selective rotation, the ends of the 'T' member cross-bar engage the stop members to prevent rotation in a selected direction. The 'T' cross-bar transmits the engagement force directly to a recess in the inner wall of the housing. A hand-actuated knob assembly located outside the housing is connected to the 'T' member stem by a resilient bushing which provides a restoring force to return the 'T' member to a stop engagement position following defection by stop members traveling in a direction counter to that intended to be prohibited.

Rachet system for hand-held tool

A plunge type router is disclosed which includes a base housing having a work engaging surface and an upper portion within which a driving motor is supportingly mounted for reciprocable movement with respect thereto. A pair of extension coil springs are provided extending between a first pair of projections provided on the upper portion of the base housing and a second pair of projections secured to the motor housing which operate to continuously bias the driving motor into a retracted position. The extension springs are arranged in the form of loops positioned on opposite sides of the router and are concealed and protected by a pair of handles secured to the motor housing which handles are movable therewith.
