An adjustable socket assembly includes a collet having a first end, a second end, and a perimeter wall. The second end has a receiving aperture therein. The collet is divided into a plurality of sections. A sleeve has a bottom end that receives the collet. The sleeve has an interior surface that tapers inwardly and abuts the sections to move toward each other as the sleeve moves toward the second ends of the sections. A biasing member extends through a top end of the sleeve and engages each of the sections. The biasing member is actuated to bias the sleeve downward to close together the sections and engaged the valve actuator. An engagement head is attached to the upper end of the biasing member and engages a tool to rotate the collet.

A fluid filtration unit having two or more filter medium layers and/or zones, at least one of the layers/zones having a different particle retention capability disposed on each side of a non-filtering separator element. The filter medium are presently preferably positioned such that each succeedingly distal filter layer or zone from the separator has a decreased particle retention capability than each proceeding filter layer or zone. The filter medium layer most proximal to the separator element may be separated from the separator by a support material for supporting such filter medium element and preventing collapsing of the medium into any separator conduit. At least one of the medium elements is formed from a material which swells in size due to fluid absorption with the various zones and the separator being operatively connected by a new and innovative edge seal. The new and innovative edge seal is presently preferably formed from a thermoplastic material having a modulus of elasticity which is sufficient to permit radial expansion of the edge seal when the unit medium swells in size.

Graded particle-size retention filter medium for cell-type filter unit

A device which is easily attached to the side of a scaffold for lifting objects up the side of the scaffold. The device consists of a carriage which has a rectangular frame having guide members with wheels attached at each corner for engaging the pipes of the scaffold frame. The wheels are attached such that the carriage can ride up and down on the scaffold without interference with the scaffold frame supports and cross members. The carriage has a motor attached to it which is connected to a chain drive. There is a chain which runs through the chain drive and attaches to the top of the scaffold frame. The motor and chain drive act on the chain to drive the carriage up and down the scaffold. The chain drive preferably has a brake for use when the carriage is stopped. The carriage frame has a means of attaching a pair of forks. The width of the forks are adjustable on the carriage frame.
