A dispenser system having a substantially large pouch (20) for holding a substantially large amount of viscous food product for dispensing from a dispenser (122). The pouch is formed so as to include a tear strip (38) to open a funnel-shaped, centrally disposed outlet spout (24) and to be sealingly held in the dispenser. The pouch may include a pair of alignment/holding openings (32, 34) formed on either side of the outlet spout for aligning the pouch in a preferred position in the dispenser, so that a piston-type extruding member (136) may pressurize and dispense predetermined size shots of viscous food product therefrom.

A pouch for holding viscous food product for dispensing from a specific hand held or similar type dispenser, is formed so as to include a tear strip to open a funnel-shaped, centrally disposed outlet spout formed to be sealingly held in the specific dispenser. The pouch includes a pair of alignment/holding openings formed on either side of the outlet spout for securing the pouch in a fixed position in the dispenser. The invention also includes head seal tooling having a pair of heated jaws which are brought together to simultaneously form the bottom seal of a top unfilled, pouch and the outlet spout and angularly disposed top seals of a filled lower pouch, while at the same time forming perforations for the tear strip, the pair of openings in the lower pouch and cutting-off the formed, filled and sealed lower pouch from the upper pouch.

An enlarged dispensing pouch for holding viscous food product for dispensing from a specific hand held or similar type dispenser, is formed so as to include a tear strip which will accurately and consistently open a funnel-shaped, centrally disposed outlet spout formed in the pouch. The tooling to form the tear-off strip across the pouch and up to the outlet spout includes a plurality of blade groupings having specifically sized and shaped blades to form a predetermined number of enlarged perforations and smaller end perforations along the tearline of pouches to enable the tear strips so formed to be accurately and consistently torn off the pouches.

A solar powered passive air filter system for filtering an air space polluted with particulate matter includes an elongated vertical chimney located in association with the polluted air space and in a position to be exposed to solar radiation. A duct connects the polluted air space to the base of the chimney. A filter medium is located in association with the duct for removing air pollutants from an air stream. An air stream is created in the duct by an ascending air stream in the chimney. The ascending air stream in the chimney is maintained in response to exposure of the chimney to solar radiation.

An easy open pouch is formed from front and back thin films by a seal formed between the films. The seal defines a product storage chamber and a dispensing cavity between the films. The seal completely surrounds the product storage chamber. An opening to the exterior of the pouch is formed in the seal in the dispensing cavity. The product storage chamber and the dispensing cavity are located adjacent to one another with a common wall located between them. The common wall is formed as a part of the seal and is frangible in response to a pressure differential between the product storage chamber and the dispensing cavity. Upon creating a pressure differential between the product storage area and the dispensing cavity the seal across the common wall delaminates to join the product storage chamber to the dispensing cavity. Product can then be dispensed from the product storage chamber through the dispensing cavity and out of the dispensing cavity opening.

A packaging cup of the type typically utilized to contain a small volume of a condiment and formed of a resilient material which has a reservoir and a lip which surrounds the reservoir with a lid sealed to the lip is improved by including support fingers formed in the lip. The support fingers are formed by including slits in the lip which separate segments of the lip into the support fingers. Each of these segments, however, is maintained to the lip by a connectable portion. The support fingers are bendable about the connecting portion allowing positioning of the support fingers out the plane of the lip. When positioned out of the plane of the lip the support fingers can be engaged over a surface as, for instance, the vertical wall of another container to hold the packaging cup on the vertical wall of the container.

A free standing product pouch for containing a product as, for instance, a fluid product includes a pouch formed with an elongated edge having ends. The pouch is folded about a point on the edge to locate the ends of the edges together in proximity with one another. The ends of this edge are connected together to maintain the pouch in a folded configuration. The folded configuration of the pouch is free standing on a surface.

For use on a form, fill and seal bagging machine a left side bag gripping member and a right side bag gripping member are located in association with a movable component of the bagging machine as, for instance, the head seal. The bag grippers contact and grip the left and right respective sides of a bag and spread these sides apart from one another just prior to formation of a cross seal on the bag by the head seal. This insures that the heat sealable film utilized on the machines is not puckered or pinched by the head seal therefore leading to a defective seal between the front and rear films forming the bag.
