In one embodiment, a plastic composition can comprise: a plastic, a white pigment, and a non-white colorant. The composition can have a whiteness index of greater than or equal to about 50, and a composition yellowness index of less than 10, as measured on a 3 mm thick color chip under D65 illuminant and 2 degree observer. Process for making polysiloxane/polymide copolymer blends

Polysiloxane/polyimide copolymers and blends thereof

Blends of polysulfones, polyethersulfones and polyphenylene ether sulfones with resorcinol based polyesters, or resorcinol based polyester carbonate polymers, and silicone copolymers have improved flame resistance. Peak heat release energy is reduced and the time to reach peak heat release is increased.

Flame retardant polysulfone blends

Blends of siloxane copolymers, notably siloxane polyimides, with polyaryl esters or polyaryl ester carbonates containing linkages derived from resorcinol, show improved flame resistance, as measured by two minute and peak heat release, compared to conventional polycarbonates. In some instances transparent flame retardant blends can also be prepared. The compositions show good melt processability, high impact strength and high elongation, and can be used to make various flame retardant articles including sheets and films.

Flame resistant polymer blends

Disclosed are resinous compositions with excellent balance of impact, heat, flow and environmental stress crack resistance, comprising (i) at least one aromatic polycarbonate, (ii) at least one low molecular weight hydrocarbon resin derived from petroleum C&#x2013;Cfeedstock and (iii) optionally a second thermoplastic resin which is not polycarbonate resin, (iv) optionally a rubber modified graft copolymer, and (v) optionally a polymeric or non-polymeric organic phosphorus species. Also disclosed is a method for the manufacture of the compositions and for the manufacture of articles thereof.

Resinous compositions, method of manufacture thereof and articles fabricated from the composition

A polyimide composition and a process to prepare polyimide resins with reduced plate out and mold deposits is described. During resin molding operations the low plate out resins show a longer period of operation between cleaning of equipment leading to more efficient operation.
