A shoulder assembly for mounting on a tire building drum is provided that includes a plurality of sections configured to interlock with another to form a shoulder ring to be mounted on a tire building drum when the tire building drum is in an expanded state, and a plurality of magnetic elements provided about a surface of the shoulder ring that is configured to contact a side of the tire building drum. The magnetic elements correspond to holding magnetic elements in the tire building drum. The shoulder ring is configured to maintain contact with the tire building drum during forming of a tire carcass, and the shoulder ring is configured to maintain its shape and stay with the formed tire carcass when the tire building drum is collapsed.

Tool for repairing a break in glass

A system for repairing breaks in laminated and plate glass utilizing a glass replacement chemical wherein glass replacement chemical is disposed in a dispenser having a dispensing end. The apparatus includes a base and an injector tube supported on the base. A tube opening is formed in a portion of the injector tube with a portion of the tube opening intersecting the lower end of the injector tube and an access opening is formed in a portion of the injector tube with the access opening intersecting an outer peripheral surface of the injector tube and extending a distance through the injector tube and intersecting the tube opening. A seal assembly is supported in the injector tube for sealing the lower end portion of the injector tube to the glass to be repaired with the tube opening being disposed generally over a portion of the break in the glass. An arm assembly is connected to the injector tube for supporting the dispenser so the dispensing end of the dispenser is disposed in the access opening to facilitate the injection of glass replacement chemical into the tube opening. In one embodiment, the apparatus also includes an insert and means for holding the insert in place during the repair process, particularly useful in repairing the plate glass.

A downhole pump having a gas release probe which probe can be easily applied to a conventional travelling barrel downhole pump by merely lengthening such barrel by providing a variable length spacing sleeve above the travelling valve. The trip rod of the probe lifts off the valve element of the valve from its valve seat to release any gas or foamy oil otherwise trapped between the lower standing valve and the upper travelling valve of the pump. The invention is useful for obtaining oil under subterranean formation conditions that do not normally permit such recovery efficiently due to gas locks and can be either provided in a downhole pump or added to a preexisting pump. The term variable length spacing sleeve is used to describe a spacing sleeve whose length is established to suit a particular operating environment, and which length is determinable by one skilled in the art after considering the various operating parameters of the oil well in question.

A downhole pump having a gas release valve which valve can be easily applied to the fixed barrel of a conventional downhole traveling plunger pump by merely lengthening such barrel. A trip on the pull rod attached to the plunger lifts off a valve element of the barrel valve seat to release any gas or foamy oil otherwise trapped between the lower standing valve and the traveling valve of the plunger. Such release takes place on each stroke of the pump. The invention is useful for obtaining oil under subterranean formation conditions that do not normally permit such recovery efficiently due to gas locks and can be either provided in a downhole pump or added to a conventional traveling plunger preexisting pump.

Foil (aluminum) is placed on a backing member (styrofoam), and depressions made in the foil and backing member, and those members become set and hold the depressions. The depressions are made in a pattern to form a picture, and plastic materials are placed in the depressions, that are transparent, and of different colors, and have convex shapes above the top of the depressions, acting as lenses. The depressions are made by the finger, a stylus, or a toothpick. In another embodiment, the backing member is relatively rigid, a stencil having cut-out areas representing a picture is placed over the backing member, and the foil over the stencil, and the depressions are made by following the stencil. Another embodiment includes a shaping form with raised elements over which the foil is placed; both are placed in a mold, and styrofoam in fluent form placed over the foil and enabled to expand, the styrofoam then constituting the backing member. This forces the foil against the shaping form and forms the depressions. The foil and backing member together as a unit are removed from the mold, and the picture completed as in the first cases. In a further embodiment, the plastic material is placed on a glass panel to form the pictorial representation, and the glass panel is placed in the open front side of a box which is otherwise closed and lined with dark velvet. The glass panel is placed with the pictorial representation disposed inwardly.

Method of making pictures

A transparent panel has particles of transparent plastic material applied to it in a pattern to depict a person or thing. The panel, with the picture thus formed, is fitted to the open side of a box, lined with black velvet. The picture is mounted in conjunction with a raking light so as to prevent glare to an observer.

Foil, (aluminum) is secured to a plastic backing member (Styrofoam), and depressions made in the front face of the foil, which extend into the backing member, and are held by those members. The depressions are made in a pattern to form a picture, and plastic materials are placed in the depressions, that are transparent, of different colors, and of convex shape, acting as lenses. The plastic material includes casting resin, thixotropic thickening material, a dye, and a catalyst. Another form includes a rigid backing member and a stencil secured there to, and foil over the stencil, and the depressions are made in the foil, following the pattern in the stencil. Another embodiment includes a shaping form having raised elements and foil thereover; both are placed in a mold, and plastic material in fluent form placed over the foil and enabled to expand, the plastic material then constituting the backing member. This forces the foil against the shaping form, forming the depressions in the foil, and backing member, and these together as a unit are removed from the mold, and the picture completed as in the first cases. In a further form, plastic material is placed on a glass panel to form the pictorial representation, the glass panel is placed in the open front side of a box which is otherwise closed and lined with dark velvet. The glass panel is placed with the pictorial representation disposed inwardly.
