An apparatus and a method are provided for switching an information signal from a selected input to a selected output of a telecommunications switch. The method includes the steps of digitally sampling the information signal at the selected input of the telecommunication switch and writing the sampled information signal into a predetermined location of a data frame within a circulating data loop at a first station of the circulating data loop. The method further includes the steps of capturing the sampled information signal at a second station of the circulating data loop and transferring the captured information signal to the selected output of the telecommunications switch.

Telecommunication system with delay data buffer and method

A multifunction bus to user device interface circuit interfaces a user device having an adjunct processing unit and transmit and receive lines with a multi-function bus having predetermined channels and control time slots. The interface circuit has an internal processor for controlling data flow and is connected to the adjunct processing unit through an internal interface means for communicating control, address and data signals. A serial connection memory for channel selection is operatively connected to the internal processor as well as a parallel connection memory for channel selection. An I/O port interfaces the control time slots on the multi-function bus and is operatively connected to the internal processor. The multi-function bus interface means provides for communicating with the channel of the multi-function bus.

Multifunction bus to user device interface circuit

This disclosure depicts a multi-function bus for use with a central processor system, user devices having user interfaces and a host switching interface unit. The multi-function bus has a first pre-determined number of transmit and receive lines connecting the central processing system, the user interfaces and the host interfacing unit. A second pre-determined number of channels on each of the transmit and receive lines is provided for on the multi-function bus. A multi-function bus includes the transfer of information to and from the host switching system both in a serial mode and in a parallel mode on the multi-function bus.

An improvement is disclosed for telecommunication PCM time division multiplex switching systems of the type having voice access ports, each with a voice path and a signalling path, and having PCM signalling and voice transmit buses to carry information to a switching network. From the network, PCM voice receive buses carry switched voice information to be demultiplexed, converted to analog form and connected to the voice port. A signalling bus carries information from the switching network to registers. The system is improved to enable it to switch data as well as voice information. A data port is provided to accompany each voice port, and the improved system includes means for multiplexing input data at the port and inserting it on the signalling transmit bus once the signalling portion of a call is completed. A receive data bus connects the signalling receive bus to means for demultiplexing data and presenting it to receive data ports. In a system where signalling and voice bits are synchronized on the transmit buses and the bits are switched together at a common location in switching network memory, the voice and data bits are likewise switched together to a common destination.

Integrated voice and data telecommunication switching system

Automated telephones with electronic circuits for outputting dial digit sequences respectively corresponding to different ones of a plurality of user's switches when each switch is momentarily actuated. The circuits permit speed dialing of (i) directory numbers, (ii) tandem sequences for accessing outside centers and specific line numbers, and (iii) access or feature codes. The apparatus is characterized especially by devices to create automatically loop breaks to simulate either a hook flash or a re-seize on-hook condition in certain circumstances and despite the fact that the telephone remains off-hook. By simple wire connections between a master or 'secretary's' telephone and each of the member's phone sets within a limited group, intelligence signals are interchanged to provide 'key line group' action without an elaborate, separate 'control box' and even though each telephone of the group is served by the central system only via its own two-wire line.

An output channel is outputted when the input signal exceeds the threshold reference, and the channel signal is analyzed to determine the identity of the particular cadence of the input signal.

A microprocessor control complex for a telecommunications switching system disclosed in the context of a digital time division multiplex switching system. The control complex is arranged as a cluster of hardware identical microprocessors in a distributed processing configuration wherein each microprocessor is provided with its own memory and clock and is programmed to perform a portion of the total function of the switching system. Each microprocessor performs the functions assigned to it independently and asynchronously of the others. Data is transferred between microprocessors in a manner which minimizes the amount of time spent in interprocessor communication. This communication is accomplished via interprocessor buffers which provide dedicated communication channels between partner processors while allowing those processors to continue to operate asynchronously. The distributed control complex allows the software to be modularized with resulting economies in program generation and debugging.

Microprocessor control complex for a telecommunication switching system

A method and means for providing a remote data station with access to the program memory of a stored program common control telecommunications switching system. The control complex has an input/output port and a modem for interfacing that port with its switching network. The control has the capability of setting up connections in the network between the modem and a selected trunk. Incoming connections to the modem are given only limited access to the stored program control, that access for the purpose of analyzing incoming data to detect a predetermined code. In the event the predetermined code is detected, the incoming connection is taken down, and an outgoing connection established to a distant station by dialing the number of an authorized station which is stored in the program memory. Full access to the program memory is then allowed, such that full access is provided only to stations whose telephone numbers are stored in the memory of the switching exchange.

Method and means for accessing program memory of a common control

An end mark controlled switching system including a crosspoint matrix and a plurality of single ended junctors for linking paths within the matrix. The single ended junctors are adapted to link matrix inlets by firing crosspoints associated with such inlets into a common matrix outlet thereby using the matrix outlet itself as the link. The single ended junctors include means for refiring linked paths to allow insertion of additional inlets into existing connections.
