A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a process that includes providing a pairing key to a communication device, wherein the pairing key is encrypted and is associated with a software application associated with a group of services. The communication device is enabled to utilize the software application based on the pairing key and a service of the group of services is requested from a first media resource center for use with a media device. Responsive to a detection of a communication zone associated with a second media resource center, the pairing key is provided to the second media resource center to enable the service to be used in the communication zone. The software application is not fully enabled until it is determined to be in compliance with a service provider policy. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Apparatus and method for managing software applications of a mobile device server

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a media processor having a controller to record stereoscopic media content supplied by a multimedia system, receive from a communication device a request for the recorded stereoscopic media content, determine rendering capabilities of the communication device, generate transcoded content by transcoding the recorded stereoscopic media content according to the rendering capabilities of the communication device, and transmit to the communication device the transcoded content. Apparatus for adapting a presentation of media content to a requesting device

An insulator for notifying an animal when an electric fence is provided. The insulator may include a clip for attaching the insulator to the fence. Metal contact points may draw power from the electric fence when the fence is active, or the insulator may be powered through induction. The insulator may also include a circuit board or controller that receives power from the fence and translates it into an output directed to a notification device. The notification device may comprise a light that produces a visual notification or a speaker that produces an audible notification.

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, receiving a message transmitted from a web server application operating in a mobile device and inserting an identifier of a gateway device into the message to produce a modified message. The modified message includes a request to invoke a software application in the mobile device. The modified message is forwarded to a remote server to allow the server to establish communications with a media processor based on the identifier of the gateway device. The media processor invokes the software application in the mobile device based on an address supplied by the web server application allowing the mobile device to execute the software application and to establish media communication services with the media processor responsive to executing the software application. A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium operating in a mobile device server. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium can include computer instructions to execute a web server application in the mobile device server. The web server application can be operable cause the mobile device server to detect a media resource center while roaming in a communication zone of the media resource center, transmit a pairing key to the media resource center, and receive from the media resource center authorization to pair with one or more resources selected by the media resource center according to the pairing key. In one embodiment a billing system can be operable to determine whether to apply a monetary charge to a subscriber account based on the pairing key. Other embodiments are disclosed.

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having computer instructions to detect a first position of a viewing apparatus, wherein the viewing apparatus enables viewing of media programs, obtain a media program in a first viewing perspective that conforms to the first position, present the media program with the first viewing perspective for viewing by way of the viewing apparatus, and transmit to the viewing apparatus a first audio signal corresponding to the first viewing perspective. The storage medium can also have computer instructions to detect that the viewing apparatus has moved to a second position, obtain the media program in a second viewing perspective according to the second position, and present the media program with the second viewing perspective for viewing by way of the viewing apparatus. A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, which operates in a mobile device server and has instructions to obtain a software application, store a first pairing key in a memory of the mobile device server where the first pairing key is generated by a device of a service provider in response to a review of the software application for compliance with a policy of the service provider, and execute a web server application at the mobile device server that is operable to detect a media resource center operably coupled with a media device, establish communications with the media resource center and transmit the first pairing key to the media resource center to enable at least a portion of services that are associated with the software application and that utilize the media device. Each of the plurality of unassociated media programs can be viewable only with a viewing apparatus.
