An open-end spinning machine (1) with a plurality of adjacent open-end spinning units (2) each having a sliver opening device (4) with impurity-discharge openings (10). An impurity-removal device (11) is installed below the impurity-discharge openings (10) and comprises an impurity-removal belt (12) which can be driven in a reciprocating manner. A cleaning carriage (16) is arranged on the impurity-removal belt (12) and is connected by frictional engagement to the impurity-removal belt (12). The cleaning carriage (16) has a cleaning lip (18) which mechanically cleans the areas of the sliver opening devices (4) especially endangered by contamination. The cleaning carriage (12) can be shifted as required relative to the impurity-removal belt (12).

In an open-end spinning machine (1) with a plurality of open-end spinning devices (3), each having a spinning rotor (15) whose rotor shaft (26) is seated in the bearing wedge of an axial thrust-free support disk bearing (27) and is positioned by a magnetic bearing (29), and a service unit (10), which automatically services the spinning devices, a sensor device (41) is provided on the service unit (10), which is connected to the control device (18) of the service unit (10) and checks an identification marker (34) applied to each spinning rotor (15). The control device (18) actuates a yarn piecing operation by the service unit only upon detection of an identification marker (34) identifying the spinning rotor (15) to be compatible with the associated spinning device.

Method and device for operating an open-end spinning machine

A machine producing cross-wound bobbins or cheeses has a yarn guide rod including axially coupled-together partial rods. Each partial rod includes a tubular abrasion-proof jacket, and a compact bar body being formed essentially of fibers embedded in a plastic matrix and being disposed in and joined to the tubular jacket in a shift-proof manner.

Roller bearing for supporting members with limited axial movement, consisting of bearing elements having confronting raceways and a plurality of rolling elements held in a cage between the raceways. One of the raceways is bounded by flanges defining contact surfaces. At least one end surface of the cage (3) has elastic segments (9), radially oriented sections (10) of which engage in a groove (11) in one of the bearing elements. In the terminal axial positions of the one bearing element (2) relative to the other bearing element (1), the radially oriented sections (10) of the cage (3) rest against the lateral surfaces (13) of the groove (11).
