A method for operating a building closure is disclosed. The building closure may be in the shape of a sectional door or a garage door. The position of the building closure and a motor current of a drive device is monitored by a control apparatus. When the building closure stands still, an electrical drive device arrests the building enclosure by providing an electrically conducting connection between winding of the drive device to ground. The position detection device continues to monitor a signal change such that in response to the signal change, the arresting is suspended and the electrical drive device is at least partially energized.

Method for operating a building closure

A method for operating a building closure having the shape of an overhead sectional door or of a garage door including at least one spring-loaded counterweight device and an electrical drive device is disclosed. A control unit simultaneously monitors the position of the building closure and a motor current for the drive device. When the building closure is in an open or a closed position, the motor current is reduced and maintained at a level to residually energize the drive device to reliably maintain the building closure in a desired position.

The invention concerns an electromechanical drive for a door or the like, with a motor and a transmission, which are connected with each other, wherein a drive gear in the form of a gear wheel or the like is present on a drive shaft of the transmission and cooperates with means for moving the door or the like, preferably in or on a guide rail. The drive has a modular design, and it has a compact power unit that can be used with different types of mounting units for different doors. In this regard, the power unit is equipped with a standard mounting bracket. In addition, different housings can be used for different areas of application.

A high voltage quick-break fuse has at least one silver fuse element and at least one tin fuse element in series connection. It is a full-range fuse dimensioned in such a way that, even in the case of critical overcurrents where hitherto fuses have had a tendency to explode, the in each case appropriate fuse element system comes into action, before the fuse can explode as a result of the rising internal pressure. Further developments relate to the housing of particularly thin silicone sleeves, supported by a fabric, in fuse tubes according to the DIN standard.
