A roller bearing support assembly utilizes one or more pairs of lever arms to support an ink forme roller or a dampening forme roller. Each lever arm includes a U-shaped seat for an axle trunnion of the roller. These seats facilitate the quick removal and replacement of the rollers in the levers without disruption of the roller's adjustment. The rollers can be thrown on or thrown off the cooperating plate cylinder by pivotal movement of the lever arms.

A sheet transport drum utilizes a plurality of drum peripheral envelope surface elements which are each secured to spaced apart disks. Each of these drum envelope surface elements has a plurality of vacuum chambers which are supplied with vacuum in a circumferentially sequential manner. A sheet to be transported by the sheet transport drum is smoothly attracted to the drum's outer perforated envelope plate without wrinkling or buckling.

A distributor roller for a printing press is usable to distribute fluids or inks by rotational and axial movement. The roller is driven by frictional engagement with a cooperating roller. Axial oscillatory movement of the roller with respect to its roller shaft is accomplished by preventing a drive housing from rotating with the roller body. The distributor roller may be used as an oscillating or non-oscillating ink transport roller.

An oscillating forme roller which is unseable in an inking unit of a rotary printing machine has a rotatable and axially oscillating mantle tube carried on a roller axle. Stops are used at either end of the axle to prevent oscillation of the mantle tube. At least one of these stops is moveable axially to selectively prevent or allow the axial movement of the mantle tube.

A flexible printing plate clamping assembly utilizes a printing plate clamping device disposed in a groove in a plate cylinder. A plurality of elbow lever assemblies are used to move a clamping bar between plate clamping and unclamping position. These elbow lever assemblies have pneumatic devices and counteracting springs to place them in either clamping or unclamping positions.

A printing plate skewing assembly utilizes slidable coupling plates, carried in a groove on a plate cylinder. The coupling plates carry printing plate clamping and tensioning assemblies and are slidable through their connections to pivotable levers which are positioned at opposing ends of the plate cylinder groove.
