The line-wise printing of an image composed of an assembly of image elements (pixels) by means of a printing head which includes a row of N (N.gtoreq.2) printing elements which are arranged along an image line at a mutual distance from each other. The printing stroke is greater than the distance between two neighboring printing elements so that there is created at least one strip in the image in which there are pixel positions which are covered by m (2.ltoreq.m.ltoreq.N) printing heads. For this strip (or strips) several options are then presented for printing the pixels situated within them. A pixel in such a strip can now be printed by one or by several of the m printing elements, the allocation of one or more of these m printing elements to a position being capable of being chosen as fixed or variable. Furthermore, it is possible, if a pixel can be printed by several printing elements, to distribute the pixel printing values of the relevant pixel point over these several printing elements according to a fixed or variable distribution code.

Line-wise interference/band suppression printing system

The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a metallized plastic reflector in which a layer of fibrous material is provided on the convex surface of a mold. The layer is then just saturated with a thermohardening synthetic resin, and after partial hardening, a metal layer is applied onto the partially hardened resin layer by means of a spraying process. A supporting layer of a fiber reinforced thermohardening synthetic resin is then provided on the metal layer and after hardening the reflector is finally removed from the mold.

Method of manufacturing a metallized plastic reflector

Disclosed is an antenna feed system for use in satellite communication systems and the like, comprising a horn with a rectangular aperture and a waveguide connected thereto. The assembly formed by the waveguide and horn is constructed from two parts secured together so that the junction lies in the longitudinal symmetry plane parallel to the electric field of the TE.sub.01 mode and is mounted for rotation about the longitudinal axis of the waveguide. The feed system further comprises a polarization converter mounted in front of the horn for rotation about the extention of the longitudinal axis of the waveguide. The converter is constructed from a plurality of layers of supporting material each provided with a conductor which forms in one direction a mainly inductive load and in a direction which is perpendicular thereto a mainly capacitive load.

The invention relates to the maufacture of reflectors of electromagnetic radiation, in which a flat and thin metal foil, for example an annealed copper foil which is clamped along its circumference is deformed plastically by means of a mould which has a convex surface. In the final position the mould with the deformed foil is at some distance from the surface of the matrix. The space between deformed foil and matrix is filled with a liquid synthetic resin, for example a foam-forming polyurethane resin. After complete or partial curing of the synthetic resin the mould is removed and the resulting assembly of deformed foil and synthetic resin layer connected thereto is removed from the matrix. In an interesting embodiment a matrix is used the concave surface of which has recesses so that in the finished reflector the supporting layer is provided with corresponding bosses, such as reinforcement ribs. In a further interesting embodiment a mould is used which has a central annular recess so that in the finished reflector in the optical center thereof a perforated hub is obtained which is of importance for aligning the reflector.
