In a planet carrier (1) comprising two carrier parts (2 and 3), connected together axially, at least one of which is provided with axially extending posts (8) and the other with fitting openings (12) corresponding to the posts (8), and wherein the posts (8) engage in the openings (12) in a form-fitting manner and in addition are connected to one another, the posts (8) extending axially from the one carrier part (2) have a triangular cross-section making use of the maximum amount of free space; the posts (8) are provided at their ends facing the fitting openings (12) with a step (10) of height substantially corresponding to the thickness of the other carrier part (3) in the region of the openings (12); and the fitting openings (12) formed in the other carrier part (3) have a triangular shape (11) cut back by a radius (9), which is connected to the openings (12) by a force fit.

Planet pinion or gear carrier

In an arrangement for fastening an annular member on a hub member, wherein the annular member (1) has a locking tab (14) formed on its inner surface which engages in an annular locking groove (13) formed on the outer circumference of the hub member (2). The annular member (1) is provided with a radially extending wing tab (8) for fixing non-rotatably to the hub member (2).

Fastening a ring member on a hub member

In a fastening arrangement for a sensor (1) which can be inserted through a bore (3) in a wall (2) of a housing and is sealed and held releasably by means of an O-ring (10) and a cup-spring-like retaining ring (11), the sensor (1), together with the cup-spring-like retaining ring (11) seated on a shoulder (7), can be forced in axially with the cylindrical outer circumference (12) of the retaining ring (11) in clamping engagement with the enlarged portion (4) of the bore (2) in the wall, the O-ring (10) can be axially loaded between the shoulder (7) and the step (5) which terminates the enlarged portion (4), and the sensor (1) can be fixed axially by the inner circumference (13) of the retaining ring clamping its cylindrical shaft (6).

Fastening assembly for a device in a housing wall

In an axial bearing with an adjoining seal between two members, which form contact surfaces for the rolling elements (2) of the bearing, which are held by a cage (1, 15), one of the two members is formed by a thrust washer (4, 14, 18) for the rolling elements (2), which is integrated as a part of the bearing assembly and is provided at a central centering opening (7) with a conical seating surface (8) through which the thrust washer can be resiliently loaded radially by a sliding surface (11) of complementary shape to provide a radial seal.

A planet gear carrier with an annular oil shield that is secured in a region outside the planet wheel spindle to a side wall of the planet wheel carrier formed as a drum member of an adjacent clutch and extends so far radially inward that its inner edge inwardly overlaps the axial lubricating bores in the planet wheel spindles. The oil shield comprises a self-locking cone ring spreadably braced against the inner circumference of the drum member, a plastic molding clipped or welded to the smooth inner circumference of the cone ring, and an O-ring received in a retaining groove of the plastic molding.

A compound planetary gear system for an automotive vehicle comprising a pair of planetary gear units with a common sun gear and a driven shaft disposed concentrically within the sun gear whereby an annular lubrication oil flow passage is formed in the sun gear, the sun gear being supported by its meshing engagement with multiple planet pinions journalled in a carrier, and a flow directing funnel registering with the oil flow passage which is adapted to direct lubrication fluid into the sun gear, when it is distributed to desired lubrication points.

A thrust washer assembly for a planetary gear mechanism including a pair of thrust washers on each side of each planet gear of the mechanism, the planet gear being mounted on planet pinion shafts in a carrier by means of uncaged needle bearings, the washers directly adjacent the planet pinions having angularly spaced ports located at a position radially outward from the needle bearings and the washers between the ported washers and the carrier having sector-shaped recesses at diametrically opposite positions whereby the recesses and the ports register to establish a pumping action that circulates lubricating oil through the needle bearings.
