The invention relates to a route guidance method and a system for implementing such a method, and a corresponding computer-readable storage medium, which in particular may be used for an adaptive route guidance, the travel routes being selected that offer the highest safety when following the required driving maneuvers. For this purpose, it is recommended to output driving recommendations as a function of the risk of calculated routes. To this end, information about the current traffic situation in the surroundings of the vehicle is evaluated, the risk of the driving maneuvers resulting from calculated routes is evaluated using the results of the evaluation by at least one computer program, and driving instructions are output as a function of the evaluation.

The present invention relates to a method for subdividing the road pattern in digital road maps into segments, in which, starting from the digital road maps in which the road pattern is subdivided into successive segments, new segment borders are established via new segment starting points and segment end points, by selecting the segment starting points and the segment end points in such a way that the shape of the segments between the segment starting points and the segment end points does not change. The invention also relates to the computation of the road pattern with the aid of digital road maps, in which the road is subdivided into successive segments, to each of which one segment starting point and one segment end point is assigned. The shape of the segment is established and, from its relative position, its pattern is computed with the aid of the number of support points situated between the segment starting points and the segment end points, and/or with the aid of transition conditions between the segments and/or the consideration of attributes.

Method for segmenting and computing the pattern of a road

A method and system for updating clock references in a digital data stream is proposed, wherein all clock references present in the data stream are updated by means of a single system clock. A time recovery unit compares time t,transported in the clock reference (PCR) with the time of the system clock t,and stamps the difference (t,&minus;t,) of the two times into the clock reference. After remultiplexing, a stamping unit reads out the time difference (t,&minus;t,) of the two times from the time stamp, subtracts it from the actual time in the system clock and stamps the value (t,&plus;d) into the clock reference. Due to similarities in operation, the time recovery unit and stamping unit may share common circuitry.
