A device for fastening an electrical component to a mounting board includes a sleeve that at least partially surrounds the electrical component, and a tensioning device that is separate from the sleeve and that holds the electrical component in the sleeve. The tensioning device is positioned around a circumference of the sleeve.

A housing for an electrical component includes an electrically conductive cup which includes a wall, a floor, and a cover having electrical terminals. The housing also includes an electrically insulating coating applied to an outside of the floor and adjoining regions of the wall, and an electrically insulating covering which covers the wall at least partially and which overlaps the electrically insulating coating. The electrically insulating covering is on the electrically insulating coating and does not coat the floor. A mounting plate is also included on which the floor is positioned.

Electrical component housing

A capacitor housing includes an electrically conductive cup having a wall and a bottom, and an electrically insulating envelope which substantially covers an exterior of the cup and which includes an opening at a bottom of the cup. The opening is smaller than the bottom of the cup. The capacitor housing also includes a fill element which is substantially heat-conductive and disposed inside the opening and a cover element which is substantially electrically insulating, that covers at least part of the bottom of the cup and overlaps at least part of the envelope.

An aluminum-electrolyte capacitor assembly is provided which includes a capacitor disposed in a metallic housing. The housing is accommodated and held by a ring clamp. The ring clamp is attached to a mounting plate, preferably by screw fasteners. The mounting plate includes a bore for accommodating at least part of the housing. The ring clamp includes a conically shaped extension that extends downward and mateably engages the bore. The assembly may also include a protective ring disposed in the bore and sandwiched between the conically shaped extension of the ring clamp and the mounting plate.

An electrical component is installed in a metallic housing having a planar housing floor, in which the housing is pressed against a heat dissipation plate by means of screwable tension elements that are situated adjacent the housing wall. The tension elements have peaks at a portion that faces the housing wall. The housing has an indentation in the clamping region of the tension elements which serves as an aid to assembly, and the center line of the indentation is arranged higher prior to the fixing of the housing by means of the peak of the tension elements than subsequent thereto.

A terminal element for compensating length tolerances of electrical capacitors, particularly electrolyte capacitors, that are secured to busbars in capacitor batteries is fashioned as a straddling dowel. The terminal element is attached as a length-compensating element in a blind hole located in the capacitor terminal.

A cooling system for an electrical wound electrolyte capacitor wherein the capacitor winding 4 is mounted in a metallic cylindrical-shape housing 5 and the winding 4 has electric foils 7 and 9 which project from both ends with one of the foils being in thermic contact with the floor of the housing 6 and the other foil 9 being in thermal contact with a metallic plate 16. The heat bridges thus formed by faster and greater heat removal for high alternating currents because the temperature within the capacitor is reduced by the two separate bridges.

An aluminum electrolyte capacitor is provided composed of two aluminum foils between which spacers saturated with the operating electrolyte are arranged. Terminal elements are riveted and/or welded to the foils. The anode foil provided with the dielectrically acting oxide layer may potentially be produced from a larger, formed foil web. The non-formed cut edges of the aluminum foil as well as the terminal elements are covered with a fine-grained, electrolyte-compatible material. As a result thereof, the maximum operating voltage U.sub.max of traditional operating electrolytes is boosted.
