A method and apparatus for manufacturing a pack for flowable contents in a deep draw process having tubular side walls, a bottom and a top. The top has a pouring opening having an upstanding collar and a seam that passes around the pack in a plane that is oriented in the top so that the plane is interrupted by the pouring opening and projects on diametrically oppositely disposed sides almost as far as a free upper edge of the collar. The collar is formed of two collar halves joined together at the seam, and threads are provided on the collar for a screw top. Method and apparatus for manufacturing a pack for flowable contents

A tool for deep-drawing and sealing open plastics shells (3, 3') has a shell-like metal body (2, 2') which includes a flat edge (11, 11') at the open side. A heat insulating attachment is secured to the edge of the metal body so that the outer seam of a first plastic shell can be joined by sealing, to the outer seam of a second plastic shell oppositely disposed to it without supplying additional heat.

In a device for conveying and processing packs for liquids, a feed conveyer is provided. The device further includes processing stations, including processing stations for filling and closing of the packs, arranged sequentially, the feed conveyor feeding packs to the processing stations. A pack for flowable contents, such as liquids, has tubular side walls, a bottom and a top wall, and is formed of a deep-drawable plastics material. The top includes a vertically upstanding, externally threaded collar and defines a pouring opening which is closable by a threaded top. The pack is formed by two half shells, and a seam passes around the pack in a longitudinal plane and extends nearly to the top free upper edge of the collar. The seam is interrupted in the top by the pouring opening and projects outwardly from diametrically opposite sides of the pack. According to a method for forming the pack of the invention, the collar is formed by two collar halves which are joined together at the seam. Threads are formed on the collar and the upper free edge includes an annular sealing surface for a correspondingly formed screw top.

A description is given of an apparatus for forming and deep-drawing the neck region at the edge of a plastics half shell, having a deep-drawing tool (3) and a counter-pressure plate (2) which are movable in two directions relative to each other, wherein the deep-drawing tool (3) embraces a deep-drawing cavity (29) in shell-like manner and has a recess (30) in the side wall (31) at the edge (32). So that deformation of the collar at the edge of the plastics half shell and also over-heating of the plastics plate for forming the half shell are avoided, according to the invention it is provided that the counter-pressure plate (2) has at least one opening (16) in the contact face (17) facing the deep-drawing tool. (3), the opening having an adjacent receiving space (19) therebehind, in which an elastic mould part (25) which is movable into at least two positions (III) is arranged in such a way that in the first retracted position (III) it is disposed flush to the rear of the contact face (17) and in the second sealed position it projects into the recess (30) at the edge (32) of the deep-drawing tool (3).

A separating apparatus having a magazine in which stacked sheets made of plastics material or the like are arranged, and having movable suction means for moving the separated sheets to a workplace, where the sheets in the stack are supported in a horizontal position by holding means on the bottom edge of the magazine, and therebetween the bottom most sheet is freely disposed and is accessible to the suction means. The holding means comprises a rotatably driven shaft arranged along the two bottom edges of the magazine, the cross-section of which shaft, in the region of the length of the sheet, is recessed so as to form a shoulder, the depth of the shoulder being equal to the thickness of the sheet to be separated, and arranged approximately in the center between the edges of the magazine are the suction means which are able to move toward and away from the bottom sheet.

A method is provided for heating and transferring a substantially flat workpiece made of a deep drawable plastic material including the steps of enclosing at least a substantial portion of the workpiece between first and second opposing carrier plates such that a gas-tight seal may be formed by one of the carrier plates about the substantial portion of the workpiece and supplying hot gases through a gas distribution conduit associated with the first carrier plate while withdrawing hot gases through a gas distribution conduit associated with the second carrier plate such that the workpiece is heated and transferred to the second carrier plate. The workpiece is then transferred to a third carrier plate or a deep-drawing device.

A method and apparatus for sealingly closing a pack for liquids in which the top of the pack is provided with a hole into which is fitted a pouring device that includes a cup-like recess which defines a flange. The apparatus includes a pivot device that pivots about a main horizontal axis. The pivot device includes several mandrels onto which the pouring devices are to be individually mounted. The mandrels are rotatable about their respective longitudinal axes to allow a thread of adhesive to be applied to the flange of each pouring device so that the pouring device can be subsequently attached to the top of the pack by joining the flange of the pouring device to the collar of the hole in the pack.

A device for heating plastic plates using contact heat and hot gases which are supplied to the plastic plate to be heated by carrier plates is provided. Therein, two carrier plates are movable relative to each other vertically with respect to their common contact surface. Gas distribution conduits also open in the contact surface. In order that the plastic plates which are to be heated can be removed properly from the carrier plates, so that damage to the heating device is avoided, each contact surface of both carrier plates is surrounded by a frame-like, closed outer edge without mouth openings for the gas distributions conduits.

So that packs of widely different configurations and consisting of a wide range of different materials can be produced in such a way as to be sealed and easily openable, the pouring device (10) has at least a bottom portion (20) and a closure portion (21) which are pivotally movably connected together by way of a hinge (22), wherein the tearing line (25) is disposed in the bottom portion (20). The process for the production of such a pouring device is characterised in that a series of blanks which are arranged in succession in a flat condition and which are in line-wise contact with each other are formed from an endless web of plastic material which can be subjected to deep drawing, and rolled up to form a coil, and the blanks are separated off prior to fitting to the hole in the pack.
