A suction air nozzle for a textile machine for storing a yarn length of a running yarn passing the nozzle opening. The nozzle has an elongate nozzle body, with a clear cross section having a narrower width in the region of its central longitudinal axis than in its tube-like edge regions. The nozzle further has an inlet opening, which has its largest width in the yarn running direction. The clear cross section of the nozzle body of the suction air nozzle increases from the inlet opening of the nozzle body in the axial direction to an end-side outlet opening.

A system for determining a zero position of a yarn guide () of a textile winding device for cross-winding yarn into cheeses via a step motor (). The yarn guide (), acted upon by the step motor (), is initially displaced in the direction of its zero position (NS) and positioned at a slow speed against a defined detent () downstream of the zero position (NS). Then, the step motor () is switched off, causing the rotor () of the step motor () to drop into one of two possible stop positions (RS, RS). Subsequently, the step motor () is switched on by an electrical current supply to its stator windings (A,B) such that, when switched off, the rotor () of the step motor () is in the stop position (RS) in which the yarn guide () is in its zero position (NS).

A method of winding the yarn traveling at a work station of a spinning bobbin winding machine or of a bobbin winding machine from a yarn source onto a take-up bobbin ( ). After each yarn interruption, the yarn end is unwound from the take-up bobbin ( ), a yarn joinder reconnects the yarn source and the take-up bobbin ( ) and the winding process is then continued if a tolerable yarn joining location is present. Upon the occurrence of each yarn interruption, the amount of yarn wound since the last yarn joinder is determined. If such amount of yarn is determined to be less than a predetermined amount of yarn, a sufficient amount of yarn is unwound and separated from the take-up bobbin ( ) to include the last-occurring yarn joining location in the separated yarn section. This results in an optical improvement in the quality of the finished textile product.

A textile machine includes a bobbin winder for winding a textile bobbin having a longitudinal axis, a given length and a yarn package with a peripheral surface. A drive roller assembly includes a drive roller for rotationally frictionally driving the textile bobbin. The drive roller has an active width being substantially less than the given length of the bobbin. The drive roller has contact lines for contacting the peripheral surface of the yarn package of the bobbin. The contact lines are chronologically successive during rotation of the drive roller and are shifted relative to one another in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the bobbin.

A method for cleaning the measuring chamber of a contactlessly operating scanner head of an apparatus for monitoring yarns on a textile machine includes bringing a cleaning tool formed of an elastic material from a waiting position into an operating position. The cleaning tool is mechanically brought to walls of the measuring chamber for a cleaning operation. The elastic material cleaning tool is adapted to the contour of the measuring chamber during the cleaning operation by positioning the cleaning tool. The measuring chamber is mechanically cleaned without yarn being disposed in the measuring chamber. The cleaning tool is taken out of operation and returned to the waiting position after the cleaning operation. An apparatus for cleaning the measuring chamber includes a mechanically operating cleaning tool being formed of an elastic material and having a contour. The cleaning tool is brought from a waiting position into an operating position in the measuring chamber for performing a cleaning operation while adapting the contour of the elastic material cleaning tool approximately to the contour of the measuring chamber.

Method and apparatus for cleaning the measuring chamber of a scanner

An open-end spinning machine has a rotor with a shaft, an opening and an interior with a fiber slipping surface terminating in a fiber collecting groove in a given plane. A cleaning device for cleaning the interior of the rotor includes an arm. A rotatable shaft connected to the arm is offset relative to and disposed at an angle relative to the rotor shaft. A support on the rotatable shaft has an end on which at least one cleaning tool is disposed. The support is rotatable about the rotatable shaft with the end describing an arc cutting across the given plane for delivering the at least one cleaning tool with a forward motion through the rotor opening to a portion of the interior of the rotor to be cleaned.
