A flat seal having at least one single-piece sheet-metal seal layer is provided, which has at least one first layer region provided with at least one medium through opening and, outside the first layer region, at least one second layer region and, with the flat seal installation-ready, has a pre-determined outer contour, wherein the flat seal for the medium through opening has a medium-sealing device. In order to reduce the material requirement for manufacturing the seal layer, the seal layer is configured so that at least one sub-region of the second layer lying outside the medium-sealing device region of the seal layer is formed by a region of the sheet-metal layer that is stretched in the layer plane to achieve the pre-determined outer contour.

Sheet-metal flat seal layer and method for the production thereof

A sealing system, in particular for sealing multiple part exhaust-gas lines for an internal combustion engine, has at least a first flange part () and a second flange part () guiding a flow of heat (). The flange parts () delimit a receiving space () for at least one sealing element () between them and adjoin one another. Each flange part forms an outwardly projecting annular flange () facing away from the flow of heat (), and extending transversely with respect to the heat flow. Chambering of the receiving space () is formed for the sealing element () by an annular groove () open at the end face () of at least one flange part () and recessed axially into said end face (). At least one covering element () is arranged in the annular groove () and provides thermal shielding for the sealing element () at least on its side facing the end face () of the flange part ().

Sealing system for exhaust-gas lines

In a sealing arrangement, in particular for the connection of a manifold to a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine, a flat support () has at least one sealing element in the form of a ring element () that forms a mold seal. The support () and ring element () form a unit that holds the ring element captively on the support ().

Sealing arrangement

Flat gasket with a gasket plate comprising at least one sheet metal layer, in which fluid passage openings, screw holes adjacent to these and elastically deformable sealing elements enclosing the fluid passage openings are formed. On the one hand, to impede as little as possible sliding movements of the components to be arranged on either side of the flat gasket relative to one another and to the flat gasket, and, on the other hand, to create a fixed point for the assembled flat gasket, the flat gasket is designed such that the gasket plate has for at least a first one of its fluid passage openings in the area of a screw hole adjacent to this opening a spring element which is capable of elastic deformation perpendicularly to the gasket plate, and that the gasket plate has for at least a second one of its fluid passage openings adjacent thereto a screw hole which is without a spring element.

Flat gasket with a gasket plate which has at least one screw hole for the passage of the threaded shaft of a screw and is formed in the region of this screw hole by a sheet-metal layer, the sheet-metal thickness of which would make an engagement of the sheet-metal layer in a thread of the threaded shaft possible, wherein for the secure centering of the threaded shaft in the screw hole the sheet-metal layer has in its edge region bordering on the screw hole at least one centering element which is formed by the sheet-metal layer and bent out of its plane and prevents any engagement of the sheet-metal layer in a thread, the centering element being designed such that it can be bent back at least approximately into the plane of the sheet-metal layer during the tightening of the screw.

Flat gasket

A flat sealing plate for combustion engines and a method for manufacturing same are disclosed. The sealing plate comprises a layer of soft sealing material consisting of mineral base compounds as well as of a binder material being at least partially vulcanized. A first and a second metallic foil are glued on both sides of the soft sealing material layer. For the manufacture of such sealing plate calender rolls are used to calender the sealing material on the first foil and additional rollers are then used to laminate the second foil on the opposite side of the sealing material layer.

In a cylinder-head gasket defining a sealing plane, and including at least a soft sheet of material made of a highly elastic layer of graphite, and formed with an opening serving as a fuel chamber passage, and wherein a sheet metal collar covers a rim of the layer bordering said opening, the improvement includes the sheet metal collar forming a single flange extending for the greater part thereof parallel to the sealing plane, and terminating near the edge of the said rim facing away from the said sealing plane.
