A hydraulic circuit for longwall support for use in underground mining for supporting a longwall by means of a plurality of support shields incorporates a pressure monitoring device in the pressure line between the load maintaining valve and the shield control valve. The pressure monitoring device can be a device for monitoring the piston position of the shield control valve which device signals a deviation of the set position predetermined by the shield control device from the measured actual position of the piston of the shield control valve in the form of a deviation signal. It may also be a pressure sensor which signals the deviation of the set pressure predetermined by the shield control device from the measured actual pressure in the form of a deviation signal. Signaling can be acoustic or optical.

Hydraulic circuit for longwall mining

A hydraulic circuit for longwall support for use in underground mining for supporting a longwall by means of a plurality of support shields includes in the annular piston line of each cylinder/piston unit a pressure sensor. The pressure sensor, upon reaching a predetermined maximum pressure activates a pressure deviation signal, causes the entire longwall to be depressurized by means of a longwall shut-off valve. The pressure deviation signal is blocked for one of the hydraulic valves against each triggering signal.

A safety device which detects personnel data of persons located in the detection zone thereof, said safety device operating continuously or in regular cycles and reporting to the central controller. The personnel data of all persons located in the longwall mine are stored in a central storage device of the central control and constantly compared to the detected personnel data. If a discrepancy arises between the saved personnel data and the detected personnel data, the central control unit executes a command which halts all functions of the excavation devices and interrupts all moving functions, said command being directed at the switching devices of the associated excavation devices.

A control device for electrohydrualic support controllers, with an electronic individual controller including a plug board that contains first connecting pieces, a terminal block that is mounted to a corresponding support frame and includes recesses for holding second connecting pieces, plug-in connectors for connecting cables for communicating with adjacent controllers, and at least one external power supply. A connecting plug, to which the lamp can be connected with its connecting cable, is attached to the terminal block.

Control device for electrohydraulic support controller

A controller is disclosed for control operations in underground mining, especially for controllers to control support shields. The controller utilizes a central unit with a microprocessor and assigned, programmable memory devices for the storage and processing of software as well as a connector unit with connectors or circuits for communication between the controller and other controllers and/or actuators, sensors or the like, that are to be controlled with the controller. Both the central unit and the connector unit utilize a modular design. A collection of modules with different performances and/or functionalities are provided for both the central unit and the connector unit to form the hardware of a controller. The modules can be combined with one another and coupled together according to a modular concept.

Controller for underground mining

A device for detection and adjustment of the tension of a scraper chain of a chain conveyor, in particular of a face conveyor, having a tensionable return station, on which a spoked chainwheel to reverse the scraper chain, having chain links and scrapers attached thereto, is supported between the bottom race and the top race. The devices including a sensor which determines the tension of the scraper chain at the return station and the sensor having a swivellable sensor body coupled with a shaft encoder. The sensor body being in the top race and in contact with the upper face of the scraper chain in a measurement zone with provision being made in the measuring zone for vertical play for the run of the scrapers and/or the chain links.

The invention relates to a connector for a cable for underground mining, comprising a socket partand a plug part axially insertable into the socket part and having a hole in the back for inserting a cable, the plug part being secured to the socket partby a screw capmounted for rotation on the plug partand screwable on to an external threadon the socket partand being sealed against penetration of moisture and/or dirt by at least one sealing element. In order to obtain standard parts for a family of plugs by a simple assembly process and with maximum sealing-tightness against moisture and dirt and at low production costs, the plugs being suitable for inserting the cable either coaxially or radially, the external threadon the socket partand the associated internal threadon the screw capare triple threads and/or a crown partwith at least one radial recessfor receiving the cableis provided on the cable entry holeon the back of the plug part. Connector for a cable for underground mining

The invention relates to a plug-type coupling for sheathed electrical cables, particularly for use in mining, with a flexible protective sheath which accommodates electrical conductors of the cable. The end of the sheath is gripped in a pullproof and sealed fashion between a pressed sleeve which surrounds it and an inner backing sleeve, these parts forming part of the coupling which also includes a coupling sleeve which adjoins the pressed sleeve and receives an insert which holds contact elements electrically connected to the electrical conductors. According to the invention, the pressed sleeve is joined to the coupling sleeve to form a one-piece connector to which the insert carrying the contact elements can be coupled in a pullproof fashion by means of a snap connection. The distinctive features of the sheathed cable coupling according to the invention are simplicity of construction, ease of assembly and low production cost.

Plug-type coupling for sheathed electrical cables

According to the invention, monitoring the load on hydraulic powered shield supports in underground use is performed by using the controller (13) serving for extraction control, which is equipped with microelectronics for load monitoring and load control, the components of the powered shield support being assigned sensors (14 to 18) whose electric measured values are used by the controller (13) for evaluating the measured signals and for driving the hydraulic rams (6, 7) and/or the angle cylinder (11) assigned to the powered shield support. The load control is preferably designed here in such a way that the critical load situations 'one-sided loading' and/or 'tip-toeing' are detected as early as during the setting operation, with the aid of appropriate sensors, and are rendered non-damaging in their effect by appropriately driving the hydraulic rams and/or the angle cylinder.

Method and device for monitoring the load on hydraulic powered shield

A method for controlling the main and auxiliary drives of conveyors, for example, in underground mining. The drives are controlled as a function of the loading of the conveyor in such a way that in a low load range of the conveyor the auxiliary drive produces a higher output (20.sub.I) than the main drives and as the load increases the output advantage of the auxiliary drive in relation to the main drives is reduced. This special load distribution to auxiliary and main drives has the advantage that sagging of the conveyor element, for example the chain of a scraper chain conveyor in the inaccessible and concealed lower strand, close to the main drive, can be prevented. The risk of damage to the machine frame or conveyor chain is thereby reduced.

Method for controlling drives of conveying machinery

A method for determining the active power (P) of asynchronous electric motors of winning and conveying equipment in underground mining. According to the invention, particularly easy and accurate determination of the instantaneous active power of the motors is obtained by storing the individual motor characteristic (P(n); M(n)) of each motor in a computer, by detecting the instantaneous speed (n, n') of the motor with the aid of a tachometer and by comparing this speed with the characteristic stored in the computer, the active power being derived from the torque value or power value assigned to the detected instantaneous speed, as stored in the computer. This particularly rapid and simple calculation of the power value does not require any readings to be taken at the power supply to the motors.
