A tool holder, in particular for a measuring sensor, with an interface to a spindle of a machine tool is proposed. The tool holder comprises, as seen from the interface for the spindle, a material portion which differs from the customary basic material of a tool holder in a lower coefficient of linear expansion &#x3b1; and/or in a lower heat conductivity &#x3bb;. According to the invention, the material portion affords thermal decoupling between the tool-side portion of the tool holder and a tool received therein from the tool spindle for reducing a length change on account of an introduction of heat coming from a comparatively hot tool spindle.

A method is proposed for measuring tools on a machine tool with a measuring device, wherein by means of a movement of a spindle of the machine tool the measuring device is temporarily positioned at a measuring point on the machine tool in order to carry out one or more measurements, the measuring point differing from a spindle mount. Furthermore, a measuring apparatus is proposed which is embodied in such a way that the measuring device can be positioned at a measuring point on the machine tool for a measuring operation by means of a spindle movement of a machine tool, said measuring point differing from a spindle mount.

A method for measuring workpieces with a measuring probe on a machine tool with linear axes of motion and at least one pivoting axis is provided, whereby the deviation of an actual position of a calibrating body in a pivoted position, in relation to a theoretical pivoted position which the calibrating body ideally occupy without a pivoting error, is used to determine a correction value. An actual measured value for calculating a coordinate of a measuring point on a measurement object or a theoretical measuring-point coordinate to be approached on the measurement object is corrected using the correction value when a measurement is carried out on the measurement object in a corresponding pivoted position. A device for implementing the method is also provided.

Method and device for measuring workpieces with a measuring probe on a machine tool

A touch probe is provided, including a deflectable stylus with a rest position mechanism on which the stylus is arranged, and a housing in which the rest position mechanism is accommodated. The rest position mechanism comprises a stylus holder with carrying elements and seating elements corresponding to the carrying elements that interact with the carrying elements to arrange the stylus holder in the touch probe. The carrying elements and seating elements form a sensing circuit which is closed when the carrying elements are in contact with the seating elements and which is open when one of the carrying elements is not in contact with a corresponding seating element. The rest position mechanism includes a spring element, which urges the stylus holder against the seating elements to position the stylus holder. Setting means, which allow setting of the pressing force of the spring element, are provided in the stylus holder.

A receiving station () is proposed, having a receiving unit which is designed for radio reception of data from a measurement sensor (), with two or more channels at different frequencies being available for selection for data transmission, which can receive data continuously from the measurement sensor on a current channel when in standby. According to the invention, a control unit () is provided, which scans the frequencies of the channels and blocks those channels for further selection in which a predefined interference level is exceeded. A touch probe is provided, including a deflectable stylus with a rest position mechanism on which the stylus is arranged, and a housing in which the rest position mechanism is accommodated. The rest position mechanism includes a stylus holder with carrying elements and seating elements corresponding to the carrying elements that interact with the carrying elements to arrange the stylus holder in the touch probe. The carrying elements and seating elements form a sensing circuit which is closed when the carrying elements are in contact with the seating elements and which is open when one of the carrying elements is not in contact with a corresponding seating element. The carrying elements are provided with electrical contacting means that is formed independently of a clamping device.

A laser light barrier system for measuring or checking tools or workpieces on machine tools has a support which can be fastened to the machine frame. The support has an elongate base housing and two block housings, which at a mutual longitudinal distance project transversely from the elongate base housing and one of which contains a transmitter and one a receiver. The laser beam extends at a distance from and approximately parallel to the elongate base housing. An elongate stop element which is held in position by means of a latching arrangement, extends, in the space between the laser beam and the base housing, in the longitudinal direction from one block housing to the other block housing, and wherein the elongate stop element snaps off in the event of a collision with a moving tool or workpiece and, as a result, actuates an electric switch which, by acting on the emergency stop device of the machine stops the latter.

An electrical switch has a geometrically reproducibly precise switching point. The switch includes a housing defining a bore therein; an electrically conductive ball disposed within the bore and movable therein; two contact elements fastened in the housing; an elastic element disposed in the housing for pressing the ball against the contact elements such that the ball rests against the contact elements at respective contact points thereby establishing an electrically conductive connection between the contact elements; a plunger element operatively contacting the ball and being movable for lifting the ball off from the contact elements counter to a pressing force of the elastic element for interrupting the electrically conductive connection between the contact elements; and an adjustment element operatively contacting the ball for limiting a margin of movement thereof in a direction essentially perpendicular both with respect to a longitudinal axis of the bore and with respect to an imaginary line connecting the contact points.

A sensing head for a three-dimensional sensing of a workpiece includes a housing; a lid secured to the housing at one end thereof; a transmission member axially slidably received in the housing; a transducer mounted in the housing and cooperating with the transmission member for generating a signal representing axial displacements of the transmission member; a spring disposed in the housing and urging the transmission member toward the lid; and a bearing body disposed in the housing between the lid and the transmission member. The bearing body is a spherical segment having a base and a spherical surface. The base is in contact with an inner face of the lid. A sensing pin secured to the bearing body passes through the lid. The transmission member has a circular edge constituting a seat being in a circular contact with the spherical surface and centering the bearing body in the housing. The sensing pin and the bearing body are pivotally displaceable about a contact location between the inner lid face and a boundary edge between the base and the spherical segment. Any pivotal motion of the bearing body relative to the inner lid face causes an axial motion of the transmission body relative to the lid.
