A laser arrangement for use in a multi-beam laser sighting mechanism, which comprises a light source for producing at least one primary laser beam bundle and an optical beam divider with reflecting surfaces, by which at least one primary laser beam bundle can be split into at least two partial beam bundles, which extend perpendicularly to one another. The light source comprises two semiconductor lasers including light-emitting surfaces which have a longitudinal extent and a transverse extent, which are in a ratio of about 2.5:1 to about 4:1 to one another. The light-emitting surfaces of the semiconductor lasers are disposed so that the longitudinal extents of the light-emitting surfaces are rotated at an angle of 90&deg; to one another and the primary beam bundles, which are produced by the two semiconductor lasers, can be superimposed before or at the beam divider.

Laser arrangement for a multi-beam laser sighting mechanism

A self-leveling device having a modular unitary suspension ( ) for a measurement system carrier ( ) of a tiltable housing ( ), with the carrier oscillating freely in at least one direction, and the device being distinguished by a flexible connector assembly ( ) formed of rubber-like elastic material and situated between two mounting structures ( ). A laser levelling instrument with a levelling base (,) and fine self-levelling of the laser beam (,) has an inner cylinder (,) which bears aligning elements and is suspended in an oscillating manner inside an outer cylinder (,). The laser levelling instrument is characterized in that the outer cylinder (,) and the inner cylinder (,) form a capacitor system with opposite electrode faces; the outer cylinder (,) is joined at right angles to the base (,) and is centred with respect to the beam axis (,); and signals for detecting the oscillating position of the inner cylinder (,) may be derived from the capacitor system.

A beamsplitter for splitting a light beam in a plurality of separate beams, and having at least two reflecting surfaces (,) inclined each at an angle of 45&deg; to a propagation direction of a collimated primary light beam (P) emitted by a light source (,), forming a right angle with each other, located at a same distance from a collimator (,) for collimating the primary light beam, and extending into a path of the collimated light beam for emitting two output beams; and a light passage (,) provided in a space between the reflecting surfaces (,) and extending substantially symmetrical to an optical axis of the collimator for enabling passing through the passage a central portion (M) of the collimated primary light beam; and an alignment tool including the beamsplitter.

Beamsplitter

A two-axis inclinometer having an inclination-sensitive ray-deflecting device is described, via which a geometrical figure having at least one angle is projected onto a linear array. In addition to providing high resolution, a large measurement range is also opened up by the special arrangement and configuration of the geometrical figure. X-, Y- and overlapping inclinations can be determined simultaneously using the described inclinometer.

Two-axis inclinometer

An apparatus for aligning a laser leveling instrument along a building line can remain standing unchanged on its base throughout both horizontal and vertical leveling operations. The light source is located in the base of the instrument. The instrument head can be swung through 90.degree. and houses a rotating prism which generates the vertical plane, and an adaptor. The adaptor includes a prism for deflecting the light from the source into the rotating prism and a triple prism which, when brought into the light path, deflects the light coming from the base perpendicular to the generated vertical plane, projecting it onto the building line.
