A coin comprises a core made of a first metal, an outer ring surrounding the core concentrically and made of a further metal, and a central ring between the core and outer ring fixedly connected thereto. The central ring consists of an electrically insulating material. Further, the central ring is transparent to electromagnetic waves of a first wavelength range and is less transparent or not transparent to a second wavelength range. Methods for testing the coin are also described.

Coin and method for testing the coin

The described device for separating coins comprises a rotatable base disc (), a delimiting element () and a driver disc (). A circular ring-shaped sorting track () is arranged eccentrically relative to the base disc (). The driver disc () and a circularly arranged conveying element () interact in a transfer region () such that the lowest layer of coins among a quantity of coins conveyed by the driver disc () are pushed underneath the conveying element (), clamped thereat and conveyed further.

Device for separating coins with a rotating driver disc

A device for dispensing coins includes a rotatingly-driven rotary disk, a coin container arranged above the rotary disk, through which coins are fed to a top side of the rotary disk, and a coin discharge. A wiper device is also includes and comprises at least one elastic wiper arm arranged above and at a distance from the top side of the rotary disk and turning with the rotary disk.

Coin sorter

A coin sorter comprising a housing and a rotary disc arranged in the housing and rotatingly drivable by a rotary drive for coins to be sorted, the rotary disc is surrounded by a guide wall and a coin discharge area delimited by a wall section is provided, through which coins on the rotatingly driven rotary disc arrive at a coin conveyor track connecting to the coin discharge area, a rotatingly driven conveyor belt progressing in section above the rotary disc for conveying the coins along the coin conveyor track is arranged above the coin conveyor track, wherein the coin conveyor track is delimited by a guide edge, along which the coins are conveyed by the conveyor belt, wherein the bottom of the coin discharge area next to the wall section delimiting the coin discharge area has a discharge hole, through which the coins conveyed against the wall section can fall.

A feed unit for filling a coin module with coins improved in such a way that a plurality of coin modules can be filled or loaded with just one feed unit. The coin feed unit is a coin drum which is rotatable inside a shell. A coin stock compartment is provided into which coins can be filled via a charge aperture. A dispensing compartment is provided inside the coin drum from which coins can be taken out via the discharge aperture. A passage is arranged in such a way that coins get from the stock compartment into the dispensing compartment as the coin drum rotates around a pivot pin.

A method for testing coins which move along a runway, using a coil assembly which, on either side of the runway, has a transmission coil C, D adapted to be admitted by a transmission signal and a reception coil A, B on a common ferrite core wherein the reception coil smaller in diameter is closer to the runway than is the transmission coil and the diameter of the transmission coil is smaller than the diameter of the smallest coin to be assumed, and wherein the ferrite core has arranged thereon a secondary coil coupled to the transmission coil the signal of which is connected, as a negative-feedback signal, to the input of a differential amplifier in such a way that the signal of the transmission coil agrees with the transmitted signal provided to the other input of the differential amplifier.

Method and apparatus for measuring the diameter of coins

A coin collection apparatus for use with a coin validity testing device. The apparatus includes an electromagnetically actuated accept flap located downstream of the testing device which accept flap is pivotally supported to rotate about a horizontal axis to direct coins to a reject channel or an accept channel in response to signals delivered by the testing device. The accept flap is biased by a spring to the reject position. The apparatus further includes a first sensor located downstream of the accept flap and a second sensor located downstream of the first sensor and a processor to which the signals of the testing device and the sensors are supplied. The upper portion of the accept flap engages the wall of the coin channel in the reject position cooperates therewith such that a string to which a coin is attached will be retarded or clamped and the processor will calculate the passing time of the coin based on the timing occurrence of the sensor signals of the sensors to generate a warning signal if the passing time exceeds a predetermined value. An optical string detection device is also disclosed.

Coin collection apparatus

A coin validator which discriminates valuable coins includes a coin path along which the coins roll. A leaf spring is fixed at one end and has a spring member which projects into the coin path at the other end when the leaf spring is in a rest position. The leaf spring oscillates when the spring member is struck by a rolling coin. An evaluation circuit produces a timing signal as a function of the elapsed time between the striking of the spring member by the rolling coin and the time when the spring member first approaches the rest position after being struck. A memory stores reference values corresponding to valuable coins and a comparator compares the timing signal to the reference values for discriminating valuable coins.
