Method and apparatus for evaporating components of multiple substance mixtures and multiple substance systems

A current connection suitable for transferring high-frequency, high-amp current consists of a stationary feed line part (2) and a rotational part (4), each of which is connected to paired conductor rails (6, 8; 6', 8'). The conductor rails (6, 8; 16, 18), connected at one end to a power generator and at the other end to the stationary feed line part (2), consist essentially of at least two parallel conductor rails, which are kept a certain distance apart by means of an insulator (5a). As a result of flexible power conductors (10, 10'), electrically conductive manner to the circular periphery of the outer conductor ring (14), the other end to inner conductor ring (15), the rotational part (4) can be rotated with respect to the stationary feed line part (2) in correspondence with the length of the current conductors (10, 10', . . . ; 11, 11', . . . ). The conductor rail (16, 18), consisting of two individual conductors (16, 18), is connected electrically to the individual poles of the rotational part (4) and projects at the other end through a leadthrough plate (20) into a sealable process chamber, in which, by means of the rotatable power connection, a melting device can be supplied with operating current. By means of the power connection, currents of up to I=20,000 A at voltages of up to U=500 V and at operating frequencies of up to f=10 kHz can be transferred.

Rotary conductor rail leadthrough

A crucible (10) for the inductive melting or superheating of metals, alloys, or other electrically conductive materials is provided with palisades of approximately equal length, arranged vertically, parallel to, and a certain distance away from, each other around a circle so as to surround the melt. A plate-shaped or ring-shaped part (4) at the bottom ends of the palisades (3, 3', . . . ) holds the palisades (3, 3', . . . ). At least part of the palisades (3, 3', . . . ) are provided with cavities (5, 5', . . . ) or channels, through which a coolant flows. An induction coil (6), through which an alternating current flows surrounds the palisades (3, 3', . . . ) spaced from their outside surfaces. The palisades (3, 3', . . . ) have slots (7a, 7b, 7c;, 7a', 7b', 7c', . . . ), which extend vertically from the palisade-holding part (4) up to a point near the top edge. The inside wall (9, 9', 9', . . . ) formed by all the palisades together circumscribes a straight, regular prism with sides in the form of identical parallelograms and congruent top and bottom surfaces.

Vertical, parallel palisades (3) are distributed around the perimeter of a circle, spaced apart by gaps, surrounding the melt. An annular plate (4) supports the palisades (3), the palisades being provided with cavities through which a coolant flows. An induction coil (20) surrounds the palisades (3) on the outside, an alternating current flowing through the coil. The plate (4) is provided with support surfaces (4a, 4b), equal in number to the number of palisades (3), their shape conforming to the base surfaces of the palisades (3). Seen in the circumferential direction, every second support surface (4a) is covered by an electrically insulating film (7). All of the palisades (3) together are surrounded by a ring (18) of electrically insulating material, which holds the palisades (3) on the plate (4).

Crucible for the inductive melting of metals

At least three palisades are set up vertically and parallel to each other, spaced apart, and distributed around the arc of a circle in such a way as to surround the melt. A circular, plate-shaped part forms the bottom of the crucible and supports the palisades, the palisades being provided at least in part with cavities through which a coolant flows, and with an induction coil, which is wound around the outside of the palisades a certain distance away and carries an alternating current. At least two groups of palisades are connected to each other by means of an electrically conductive bar or pipe socket, each palisade group or each individual palisade being electrically insulated with respect to adjacent palisade groups or individual palisades.

Crucible for induction melting

In a melting crucible (3) a central bottom portion (27) is formed of a plurality of palisades (5) and is shaped so that the palisades together form a vessel or a pot (7) having a centrally disposed spout or outlet (8). Two independently powered induction coils (10, 11) are provided, one coil (10) externally surrounding the collar or upper part of the central bottom portion (27), and the other coil (11) externally surrounding the spout (8). The palisades (5) are separated from one another by individual gaps (6) running radially outwardly from the center, while the electromagnetic field of at least the upper coil (10) acts on the charge contained in the melting crucible through the gaps (6).

Apparatus for fusing a solid layer of electrically conductive material

A teeming spout has on its inside a plurality of picket-like metal segments (1) separated from one another by slots (2) and is externally surrounded by an induction coil (3). The bottom turn (7) of this induction coil (3) has a downwardly directed pitch equalization piece (8) which provides such that the field acts uniformly on the teeming stream from all sides and therefore it is not deflected.
