Reprographic or imaging systems and methods issue a command to place multiple finishing devices into an alternating delivery mode such that consecutive sets are sent to different finishing devices, rather than to the same finishing device.

Apparatus and methods for interfacing reprographic and imaging systems with multiple set finishing devices

Reprographic device provides collated and uncollated subset finishing selections at the local Graphical User Interface to allow the user to program different types of finishing within a single job to construct mixed subset finished output. Subset finishing provides a user with the ability to select different finishing options, stapling/folding/offset/hole-punching to a portion of a larger job. Print jobs can make use of software based solutions to create custom print subset finishing. Methods allow different finishing options to be applied to portions of a larger collated or uncollated job from the local GUI. A new group of subset programming attributes can be made available on the local UI. A user can then construct a mixed subset job of both print and scanned images and apply custom finishing operations on each subset. Based on the desired job attributes, the system will automatically acquire image orientation information, select the paper tray source(s), perform image rotation and invoke the appropriate finishing options.

A method of processing print jobs includes receiving two or more print jobs and organizing the two or more print jobs into one or more job groups that have modifiable group attributes. The method also includes organizing the one or more job groups into one or more group packages that have modifiable package attributes. The method further includes printing at least one of the group packages. A graphical user interface and a printing system are operative to perform the method.

System and method of processing print jobs

A method for ordering parts for a machine being serviced within an e-commerce environment transmits diagnostic data from a local computing device at the machine to a host computing device via a network. A part to be replaced within the machine is identified as a function of the diagnostic data. A part identifier is determined as a function of the part and retrofit information stored on the host computing device. The part identifier is transmitted from the host computing device to an order processing device.

Finishing system

There is provided a method of printing a job in a printing system adapted to produce prints, representative of the job, with one or more marking materials. The method includes the steps of programming the job to produce a first selected quantity of prints with a first marking material or a second marking material in the event the first marking material is unavailable, and determining that the printing system is unable to produce the first selected quantity of prints with the first marking material. In response to the determining step, the printing machine produces the first selected quantity of prints with the second marking material.

Method for changing color printing mode or substituting marking

A system for providing a memory for storing electronic images with color mode marks and a control for providing images in optional color modes for producing a set of images with discrete elements of the set of images processed in a selected color mode independent of the color mode other elements. This is accomplished by identifying elements of the set of images with color code marks and responding to the color code marks to alter the operation of the machine dependent upon the identified color mode mark. The machine pitches are also changed to provide additional features such as simplex and duplex mode to selected images.
