Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media for cryptography using different sized symbol sets. To protect against a brute force or other similar type of attack, multiple symbol sets having different sizes can be used for encrypting/decrypting data. For example, different portions of the data (e.g., data blocks representing multiple symbols, set of bits representing a single symbol) may be encrypted/decrypted using different symbol sets that include different numbers of unique symbols. Using different sized symbol sets adds additional complexity to the encryption process, thereby greatly increasing the difficulty in decrypting the encrypted data with a brute force attack.

Cryptography using varying sized symbol sets

Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media for improved data transmissions using puncturing and binary sequences. A receiving device receives a sequenced data input that includes a set of individual values and performs a puncturing of the sequenced data input, yielding a punctured sequenced data input. The receiving device calculates correlation values for the punctured sequence data input and a set of predetermined data outputs. The receiving device determines whether any of the resulting correlation values exceeds a threshold correlation value. In response to determining that the correlation value calculated based on one of the predetermined data outputs exceeds the threshold correlation value, the receiving device determines that the sequenced data input corresponds to the predetermined data output.

Data transmission using puncturing and code sequences

A system for transmitting data over an optical communication path is configured to receive data to be encoded in a bitstream for transmission using an optical communication path and encodes the received data to obtain a bitstream. The system is further configured to determine that the bitstream includes a sequence of consecutive bits, and obtain a power level at which to transmit a portion of the bitstream based on a count of the consecutive bits in the sequence. The system may be configured to selectively activate a light source at a power level according to a modulation scheme to optically transmit the portion of the bitstream at the power level.

A hybrid two-dimensional barcode reader decodes control features of the hybrid-two-dimensional barcode image, the control features corresponding to control features of a first formatting standard. The hybrid two-dimensional barcode reader extracts a data sequence from a data portion of the hybrid two-dimensional barcode image based on the decoded control features and a second data format different from a first data format of the first formatting standard to recover the first data set. The hybrid two-dimensional barcode reader may decode a second data set from the data portion of the two-dimensional barcode in the data encoding format of the first formatting standard. The hybrid two-dimensional barcode reader may also constellation decode the first data set.

Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media for a high efficiency data decoder. The high efficiency data decoder accesses an encoded data input from an input device and determines that the encoded data input does not map to any predetermined data outputs from a set of predetermined data outputs. The high efficiency data decoder selects, based on a ranking of modifications for the input device, a modification to perform on the encoded data input. The high efficiency data decoder performs the first modification on the encoded data input, yielding a modified encoded data input. If the modified encoded data input maps to a first data output from the set of predetermined data outputs, the high efficiency data decoder decodes the encoded data input into the first data output.

A two-dimensional barcode encoder generates the hybrid two-dimensional barcode image that has control features corresponding to control features of a first formatting standard. The barcode encoder encodes a first data set in a data portion of the two-dimensional barcode in a second format that is different from a data encoding format of the first formatting standard. The encoder may also encode a second data set in the data portion of the two-dimensional barcode in the data encoding format of the first formatting standard. The encoder may also constellation encode the first data set.

Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media for a high efficiency data decoder. The high efficiency data decoder accesses an encoded data input including an ordered set of individual values and determines whether the encoded data input maps to any of a set of predetermined data outputs. If the encoded data input does not map to any of the predetermined data outputs, the high efficiency data decoder modifies at least one individual value from the ordered set of individual values, yielding a modified encoded data input. The high efficiency data decoder then determines whether the modified encoded data input maps to any predetermined data outputs. If the modified encoded data input maps to one of the data output, the high efficiency data decoder decodes the encoded data input into the identified data output.

The edge shields disclosed herein utilize a plated edge surface of a PCB to form one or more sides of an electronic shield to reduce the amount of top surface area of the PCB occupied by the electronic shield. More specifically, an edge shield lid is mechanically attached to the plated edge surface to remove a need for solder overprint at the edge of the PCB. The edge shield lid is soldered, welded, adhered, or mechanically attached to edge walls where there is no available edge surface for attachment.
