Disclosed is a catalytic filter for removing soot particulates from diesel engine exhaust, which is comprised of monolithic oxidation catalyst upstream of the catalytic filter, which effectively oxidize gaseous pollutants and volatile organic fractions, and a catalyzed wall-flow filter downstream serving to low temperature combustion of soot particulates collected on the filter. Also, the preparation method of the catalytic filter is provided, including the colloidal mixture solution of platinum group metal salts and other metal salts with a water-soluble polymer and a reducing agent, which is then impregnated on a catalyst support, followed by calcining at high temperatures. In the present invention, use of the catalytic filter provides effective means of abating diesel exhaust pollutant emissions, that is, particulate matter (PM) and gaseous pollutants (HC, CO, NOx).

Catalytic filter for removing soot particulates from diesel engine exhaust and method of preparing the same

Disclosed is a cleaning agent for heater tubes, which is capable of eliminating deposits such as soot particulates in tubes installed in industrial heaters that typically use oil, coal or gas. The cleaning agent of the present invention is prepared by formulating a chemical composition comprising ammonium nitrate into pellets. Also, the present invention discloses a method of cleaning heater tubes using the cleaning agent. When being utilized for cleaning the heater tubes, the cleaning agent can improve mechanical and chemical cleaning effects, thus shortening of working time and reducing a required amount of the chemical composition, as well as preventing rapid evaporation of the chemical composition, thus increasing cleaning effect. In addition, the cleaning agent can eliminate the cementing effect of sulfur oxides or vanadic oxides in the heater tubes and thus control stably emission of NO, by selectively containing other additives including magnesium and urea.

Cleaning agent and method for cleaning heater tubes

Disclosed is a liquid phase adsorption process for removing and concentrating heteroatom compounds in hydrocarbons (HCH), comprising the steps of adsorption, copurging and regeneration. In the adsorption step, a liquid hydrocarbon stream is fed to an adsorber, which adsorbs HCH and returns adsorption effluent. In the copurging step, HCH, which are extracted from the previous regeneration, are applied to the adsorber, displacing the copurging effluent. In the regeneration step, a polar solvent is flowed through the adsorber, purging HCH. Most of the HCH are then set aside for use in the next copuring step, while a small amount of the HCH are taken out from the process as HCH product. The present invention is economically advantageous in effectively removing HCH from hydrocarbon streams and increasing the concentration of HCH within an HCH product.

Liquid-phase adsorption process for removing and concentrating heteroatom compounds in hydrocarbons

A method is provided for manufacturing cleaner fuels, in which NPC (Natural Polar Compounds), naturally existing in small quantities within various petrolic hydrocarbon fractions, are removed from the petrolic hydrocarbon fractions ranging, in boiling point, from 110 to 560&deg; C. and preferably from 200 to 400&deg; C., in advance of catalytic hydroprocessing. The removal of NPC improves the efficiency of the catalytic process and produces environment-friendly products, such as diesel fuel with a sulfur content of 50 ppm (wt) or lower. Also, the NPC can be used to improve fuel lubricity.
