A clip device for mounting a light fixture to a ceiling tile grid includes a base configured to be located on a surface of the light fixture. An edge portion extends from the base and is configured to be located in a recess in the surface of the light fixture. An arm extends from the edge portion through a first hinge such that the arm is bendable between a substantially horizontal orientation with respect to the surface of the light fixture to a substantially vertical orientation with respect to the surface of the light fixture when installed. A channel element extends from the arm through a second hinge such that the channel element is bendable to form a channel for receiving a portion of the ceiling tile grid to mount the light fixture. A light fixture system incorporating the clip device is also disclosed.

A luminaire includes a housing () with an inner cavity a light source () mounted to an inner top surface of the housing. The luminaire also includes a door frame (), wherein the door frame includes a first side rail (), a second side rail (), a third side rail (), and a fourth side rail (). The four side rails of the door frame define a light emitting opening for the luminaire. A film stack () is supported by the door frame and placed in the light emitting opening so that light from the light source passes through the film stack as it is emitted through the light emitting opening. The film stack () includes a diffuser film () and a photopolymer film (). The photopolymer film () is embossed with optical structures that create a holographic pattern that appears to be three-dimensional.

A luminaire includes a lightguide panel that is configured to receive light from a light source through an edge thereof and emit light through major surfaces thereof. Further, the luminaire includes an electrochromic film that is disposed on one of the major surfaces of the lightguide panel to adjust an amount of light exiting through the one major surface by controlling an opacity of the electrochromic film. The opacity of the electrochromic film is controlled by controlling an electrical power supplied thereto. In another example, the electrochromic film is disposed on a major surface of a lens that is disposed below and spaced apart from a light source that emits light in a first direction. The opacity of the electrochromic film is controlled by controlling the electrical power supplied thereto to adjust an amount of light that is reflected by the lens to a second direction.

A remote emergency light system provides a base unit that is electrically coupled to one or more remote emergency light fixtures using cables. The base unit may provide power to each of the remote emergency light fixtures using the cables to activate the remote emergency light fixtures during an emergency condition. Alternatively, the base unit may provide a trickle charge to one or more remote emergency light fixtures when each of the remote emergency light fixtures includes an energy charging device. The base unit may be configured to communicate with the remote emergency light fixtures and determine when a trickle charge should be sent to a remote emergency light fixture, when a trickle charge should be stopped for a remote emergency light fixture, and/or when an energy charging device needs to be replaced. The cables can meet the requirements for Class 2 circuits as defined by the National Electric Code.

Providing power to remote emergency light fixtures

A light fixture includes a back plate that has a first securing element that is formed in at least one corner of a sidewall of the back plate. Further, the light fixture includes a cover that is configured to be coupled to the back plate. The cover includes a second securing element that is formed in at least one corner of the cover that is cut out such that at least a portion of the cover fits within a cavity formed by the sidewall of the back plate when the cover is coupled to the back plate in an electrical connection phase. In the electrical connection phase, the cover is coupled to the back plate by engaging the second securing element with the first securing element such that the cover hangs from the back plate and is substantially perpendicular to the back plate, and the cavity is exposed.

A system can combine edgelit signage and edgelit illumination. The system can comprise two edgelit lightguide sections, one supporting signage and another supporting illumination. The lightguide section that supports signage can comprise a backlit face inscribed with text or graphics conveying an emergency message. The lightguide section that supports illumination can comprise a face patterned with features that release light, for example for emergency illumination. The two lightguide sections can be two areas of a single edgelit lightguide. The two lightguide sections can alternatively formed from two separate lightguides. In some examples, one or more illumination lightguide sections can be configured as a trim plate.

A light fixture includes a housing and at least one adjustable light assembly coupled thereto. Each light assembly includes a light source and an optic lens that is disposed over at least a portion of the light source. At least a portion of the lens is positioned external to the housing. The lens is rotatably adjustable about an axis extending perpendicular from the lens and includes a portion of the light source. The lens emits an asymmetrical light output. A light source holder may be included as part of the light assembly and is used to couple the light assembly to the housing. The light source holder includes a first surface, a second surface opposite the first surface, and an aperture extending therethrough. The light source is positioned adjacent the first surface over the aperture while the lens is positioned adjacent the second surface over the aperture.

Single axis adjustment for emergency lights emitting an asymmetric beam pattern to illuminate a path of egress

A light fixture includes a fixture housing and at least one adjustable lighting head assembly coupled thereto. Each lighting head assembly includes a lighting head and a mounting assembly that couples the lighting head to the fixture housing. The lighting head includes a housing, a light source inserted therein, a cover coupled to the distal end of the housing, and an optic lens rotatably disposed between the housing and the cover which produces an asymmetric light output. The mounting assembly includes a rotatable mounting base, a pin head, and a pin extending from the mounting base to the pin head. The pin is inserted through a slot formed within the housing and the pin head slides within the housing along the length of the slot. Hence, the asymmetric light output is adjustable using the rotation of each of the optic lens, the sliding pin head, and the rotatable mounting base.

Three axis adjustment for emergency lights emitting an asymmetric beam pattern to illuminate a path of egress

Exit and egress lighting, emergency lighting or emergency light fixture, having internal supercapacitor power sources are recharged after a power outage using a staggered power up process. For example, once an emergency light fixture detects a power-on transition from power being unavailable on a power source to power being available from the power source, the fixture waits a predetermined time to recharge a supercapacitor based on a charge time delay value. The predetermined time may be selected to be unique for one or several emergency light fixtures so as to distribute a combined peak power demand of the fixtures. After the predetermined time has expired, the supercapacitor is electrically coupled to a power source to in order to recharge the supercapacitor.

A recessed lighting device includes an electrical component housing that has a cavity. The recessed lighting device also includes a plaster ring that includes a plaster plate that has an opening therethrough. The plaster ring also includes a body extending substantially orthogonally from a perimeter of the opening towards the electrical component housing. The recessed lighting device further includes an illuminated panel that includes an electrical component assembly inserted through the opening and into the cavity, where the electrical component assembly is positioned within the electrical component housing.

Recessed luminaire installation with minimal disturbance of ceiling aesthetics

The present disclosure provides a rotating signage light fixture which can be mounted on a horizontal surface, such as a ceiling, or on a vertical surface, such as a wall. The rotating signage light fixture includes a housing portion and a sign portion, in which the sign portion is rotatable with respect to the housing portion. The housing portion includes a mounting surface with which the light fixture is mounted. In a first position, the sign is substantially perpendicular to the mounting surface, and the light fixture is suitable for mounting to a ceiling. In a second position, the sign is rotated 90&#xb0; from its position in the first position, and is substantially parallel to the mounting surface. The sign, a light source, and electrical components of the light fixture all move and rotate together when the sign is rotated.
