Mechanisms for image processing are provided. A computing device comprises a memory, an input device, a display, and a processor. The processor is configured to: acquire a three-dimensional image of an anatomical structure and store it in the memory. The processor renders on the display (i) an initial volume of the three-dimensional image corresponding to an initial portion of the anatomical structure, and (ii) a moveable control element. The initial volume has an outer surface defined by a position of the control element. The processor receives input data updating the position of the control element relative to the initial volume; and renders on the display, in place of the initial volume, a further volume of the three-dimensional image, corresponding to a further portion of the anatomical structure and having a further outer surface defined by the updated position of the control element.

System and method for image processing

Methods and systems for providing treatment planning information for a neurology procedure, including neurosurgical procedures. A database containing historical data about historical procedures is accessed. Historical data relevant to a neurology procedure is determined, based on a determination of similarity to a set of data characterizing the neurology procedure. Historical instances of procedure parameters relevant to the neurology procedure are determined and displayed.

Health imaging informatics system and methods

A system and method of tractography labelling in the presence of a brain lesion. According to the disclosure, a composition of free water correction (FWC) tractography and non-FWC tractography sets into a single tractography set with a 'degree of free water' value assigned to each tract and/or fragment of tract geometry. A slider graphical user interface is introduced to dynamically adjust the free water threshold value that controls what tracts and/or fragments of tract geometry get shown. For example, only tracts or fragments of tract geometry with a degree of free water below the threshold are shown while the rest are hidden.

System and method of selectively showing tractography in areas containing free water

A wireless hands-free pointer system includes a wearable unit and a base station. The wearable unit includes a head-mountable portion and a neck-mountable portion. The head-mountable portion includes an inertial measurement unit to detect movements of the head of a wearer. The neck-mountable portion includes a power supply, a microcontroller, and a wireless transmitter module and is formed to allow wearing by draping it about a wearer's neck to rest on their shoulders. The head-mountable portion is electrically coupled to the neck-mountable portion to receive power from the power supply. The head-mountable portion is also communicatively coupled to the neck-mountable portion to transmit detected movements of the head of a wearer to the microcontroller for determining position data for transmission to the base station using the wireless transmitter module. The base includes a wireless receiver module to receiving position data and can communicate the position data to a processing unit.

System and method for health imaging informatics

A system for efficiently displaying medical data to a user. For one or more of the image series, the system displays a thumbnail image representing the image series in a secondary segment of a display. In response to a selection of one of the displayed thumbnail images the system displays in the secondary segment a positioning grid with multiple sections, each section representing a section of a separate primary segment of the display that does not overlap the secondary segment. In response to a selection of one of the sections in the positioning grid the system updates the display to cause an image in the image series corresponding to the selected thumbnail image to be displayed in the section of the primary segment of the display represented by the selected section of the positioning grid.
