An independently mountable sensor system for a wet-mateable subsea connector or a dry-mateable subsea connector having at least one of a receptacle connector body or a plug connector body with a pressure vessel; one or more sensors, a power source, a transmitter, a processor and a memory within the pressure vessel. The pressure inside the pressure vessel is maintained at a predetermined pressure and an antenna is provided in the sensor system. The pressure vessel includes an electromagnetically transparent section to permit electromagnetic waves to pass between the sensor system and an external receiver. The sensor system is configured to be mounted between a back end and a front end of the receptacle connector body, or between a back end and a front end of the plug connector body; or configured to be mounted to the connector body back end.

Subsea connector

A component of a subsea connector includes a conductor, an electrically insulating layer and an at least partially electrically conductive layer. A method of assembling the component includes providing the insulating layer radially outward of the conductor; and applying the at least partially conductive layer onto the insulating layer by casting, moulding, compression fitting, or additive manufacturing techniques.

Electrical component of a subsea connector and method of manufacture therefore

A subsea screen connection assembly configured to electrically couple a subsea cable having an earth screen, the earth screen at least partially surrounding a cable core, to a subsea device. The subsea connection assembly has a connector body configured to be electrically connected to the subsea device and a clamping element configured to at least partially surround the earth screen of the subsea cable in a circumferential direction and to apply a clamping force in a radial direction to the at least partially surrounded earth screen of the subsea cable, the inner diameter of the clamping element being adjustable, and the clamping element configured to electrically connect the earth screen to the connector body.

Subsea screen connection assembly

A subsea connector includes a recess arranged on an inner surface of the housing of the subsea connector. The recess is configured to receive a canted coil spring such that it provides an electrical multi-point contact between an outer shielding layer, sometimes referred to as a screen, of a subsea cable. The subsea connector further includes a link configured to releasably attach an earth link wire to the housing.

Apparatus for providing an electrical connection path into equipment in an underwater, wet or conductive environment, the apparatus comprising a connecting pin having a conductive core and an insulating sleeve around the conductive core. The insulating sleeve has a reduced external diameter over part of its length to form an annular recess, and a collar comprising conductive material is received in the recess for axially retaining the connecting pin in the apparatus and to provide an earth shield.
