A motor vehicle, preferably a two door sports car, is provided with a side wall section, in particular comprising a fender, which forms at least partially the outer wall of a wheel housing. A sill panel which covers a lateral sill of the motor vehicle in the connected state to the side wall section forms an outer wall of an air guiding channel.

A vehicle body structure for a passenger car equipped with a fastback has oppositely arranged lateral roof frames, rearward side parts and rearward spring strut receiving devices. The oppositely arranged lateral roof frames are each constructed as a hollow support and are being mutually locally connected by transversely extending members. In order to reduce the roof intrusion of the vehicle body structure in the event of a rollover and furthermore increase the torsional resistance, each lateral roof frame in the area of the rearward spring strut receiving devices is additionally connected by way of a hollow support structure which extends in the transverse direction of the vehicle to the adjacent spring strut receiving device situated underneath.

Vehicle body structure for a passenger car equipped with a fastback

A passenger cell for a passenger vehicle has a B-pillar on each side of the vehicle body. To increase the transverse rigidity of the passenger cell in side impact loads behind the front seats, a device is provided which has a closed hollow beam extending approximately horizontally across the longitudinal direction of the vehicle with lateral ends of the device connected to the adjacent B-pillars. To create an effective device for increasing the transverse rigidity of the passenger cell for a two-door passenger vehicle having only front seats and a mid-engine placement, the device situated approximately at the shoulder height of a vehicle occupant includes a central hollow beam offset to the rear in relation to the B-pillars and connected in a force-transmitting manner to the B-pillars in front at its two laterally exterior ends via side parts that are seen as curved from above.

Passenger cell for a passenger vehicle

A rearward body structure of a motor vehicle has a vehicle body shell cutout for a tailgate attached to the body structure. The body structure has a roof junction assembly in which a lateral roof side member, a transversely extending roof frame with a hinge connection for the tailgate and a rear column converge, the roof side member the roof frame and the column respectively in a sheet metal shell construction having at least an exterior wall and an interior wall. The roof junction assembly also has an interior side part with a roof side member extension, a roof frame extension as well as a column extension, which roof side member extension and column extension each form the respective interior wall, on which roof frame extension a hinge reinforcement of the hinge connection is fastened. In order to provide the rearward body structure with sufficient stiffness, it is provided that the roof frame extension of the interior side part forms a section of the exterior wall of the transversely extending roof frame, in that the hinge reinforcement is fastened to an interior surface of the roof frame extension and in that an interior roof frame part forms the interior wall of the roof frame.

The floor installation structure of a motor vehicle is constructed of two floor sheets connected with each other by a connection unit that has an upper and a lower heel sheet as well as a tunnel segment, which is connectable with a central tunnel.

Vehicle floor structure and method of making same

A body structure of a passenger car comprises a front wall arranged between the forward car section and the passenger compartment, two mutually spaced side rails which are each connected to a floor support which is situated behind and extends as an extension of the side rail, exterior side members, upright hinge pillars and a floor. In order to, on the one hand, provide a stiff passenger compartment and, on the other hand, absorb the forces well which occur in the case of a frontal impact and introduce these forces in a large-surface manner from the forward side rails into the adjoining, partially lower body structure, it is provided that the two lower forward side rails extend continuously to the front wall and are connected to a first cross member fitted on the exterior side onto the front wall, and in that, at the front wall, at the height of the first cross member on the side facing the passenger compartment, a second cross member is arranged which, in the center area of its transverse course, is connected with a tunnel reinforcement fitted onto the transmission tunnel, and which--viewed in the vertical direction--widens in its laterally exterior areas in the downward direction and is divided into two hollow rail sections disposed above on another. The hollow rail section disposed on top is connected to the front wall and the hinge pillar, whereas the lower hollow rail section is connected with the front wall, the side member and the floor.

Body structure of passenger car

For the lead-through of lines to be led through a supporting wall, a closing body is provided which has receiving sections and which can be inserted into a wall opening by means of lateral guiding elements and can be fixed in it by means of a holding member. So that a lead-through arrangement of this type can also be used for wall openings which are closed on the circumference side, it is provided that at least the legs of the lateral guiding elements of the closing body which--viewed in the inserting direction--face the supporting wall, and the corresponding edge portions of the wall opening are provided with one profile respectively formed by projecting areas and recesses situated between them. The two profiles of the closing body and the wall opening interact with one another in such a manner that, on the one hand, an inserting of the closing body is achieved from the direction of the side and, on the other hand, a locking of the closing body on the supporting wall is achieved by a shifting motion of the closing body.
