Method for fiber stock preparation

A device treats a fiber stock suspension with at least one additive, the fiber stock suspension being used for production of at least one of paper and cardboard. The fiber stock suspension includes a suspension medium and a fiber material. The fiber material has fiber surfaces, the fiber surfaces being moistened by the suspension medium. The device includes a fluffer having an inlet for receiving at least one of the fiber stock suspension and the at least one additive. The fluffer is coupled to the inlet, the fluffer being configured for separating the fiber material and enlarging a specific surface of the fiber surfaces.

Process and a fluffer device for treatment of a fiber stock suspension

For a process and an apparatus for loading fibers contained in a pulp suspension with calcium carbonate, a calcium oxide and/or a medium containing calcium hydroxide is fed to the pulp suspension, and the so treated pulp suspension is further charged in several reactors with pure carbon dioxide or a medium containing carbon dioxide. The reactors can be connected in series and/or in parallel.

For a process and an apparatus for loading fibers contained in a pulp suspension with calcium carbonate, a calcium oxide and/or a medium containing calcium hydroxide is fed to the pulp suspension, and the so treated pulp suspension is further charged in several reactors with pure carbon dioxide or a medium containing carbon dioxide. The reactors can be connected in series and/or in parallel. The reactor can produce different forms of calcium carbonate.

During the chemical process of loading with calcium carbonate fibers contained in a pulp suspension, a medium containing calcium oxide or calcium hydroxide is added to the pulp suspension. This treated pulp suspension is charged in at least one reactor with pure carbon dioxide (or a medium containing carbon dioxide), which, during the progression of the reaction, converts at least a significant portion of the starting materials (calcium oxide and/or calcium hydroxide and carbon dioxide) into the reaction products, calcium carbonate and water. This reaction is accomplished by properly controlling the pulp suspension's pH.

A paper machine includes a traveling belt for carrying a fiber web, and a cutting device disposed below the belt for cutting the fiber web into smaller pieces. The cutting device has an inlet and an outlet. A guiding device guides the fiber web from the belt to the inlet of the cutting device. A pulper is connected with the outlet of the cutting device for receiving the smaller pieces of fiber web from the cutting device. The traveling belt may be in the form of, e.g., a wire, felt or water impervious belt. The cutting device may be in the form of, e.g., a shredder, fluffer, water jet cutter, laser cutter and/or roll cutter.

Pulping system for a paper machine

An apparatus for continuously loading fibers in a fiber suspension with a chemical compound includes a deflocculating vessel having an interior chamber, a fluid inlet connected with the interior chamber, a fluid outlet connected with the interior chamber, and a high shear imparting device disposed within the interior chamber for imparting high shear forces to and thereby deflocculating the fiber suspension. A mixing container has an interior compartment, a fluid inlet connected with both the interior compartment and the fluid outlet of the deflocculating vessel, a fluid outlet connected with the interior compartment, and a low shear imparting device within the interior compartment for imparting low shear forces to the fiber suspension. A gas supply is connected with the interior chamber of the deflocculating vessel and/or the interior compartment of the mixing container. The gas supply is configured for supplying a gas to and pressurizing each of the deflocculating vessel and the mixing container.

A flotation machine is provided which includes at least one flotation cell having an inner chamber. The fiber suspension is transported into the inner chamber, and a gas is injected into the fiber suspension within the inner chamber at a temperature below 20&deg; C. to cause the wax to clump within the fiber suspension. The clumped wax is removed from the fiber suspension.

A flotation machine is provided which includes at least one flotation cell having an inner chamber. The fiber suspension is transported into the inner chamber, and a gas is injected into the fiber suspension within the inner chamber at a temperature above 100&deg; C. to decrease the density of the wax within the fiber suspension. The wax is removed from the fiber suspension.

A method of processing recycled waste paper includes pulping waste paper in a first drum pulper. White fibers are separated from the waste paper in a first screen drum. The white fibers are then processed by screening, cleaning, deinking and bleaching. The remaining waste paper is pulped within a second drum pulper. The brown fibers are separated from the waste paper in a second screen drum. The brown fibers are processed by screening, cleaning and bleaching.

An apparatus providing process water used for making or processing a fiber suspension includes a multi-compartment tank with a top, a bottom wall, and a plurality of exterior sidewalls. Each compartment has an inlet positioned near the top, an outlet positioned near the bottom wall, and at least one intervening wall common with an adjacent compartment. Each intervening wall has a height defining an overflow weir whereby the compartments are arranged with sequentially decreasing maximum fluid levels. Each intervening wall also has a backflow device positioned near the bottom wall. The backflow device is selectively openable to allow flow from one compartment to an adjacent compartment in a direction opposite to a flow direction over the corresponding overflow weir.

A waste paper processing system in which a fibrous suspension of waste paper is cleaned and sorted. The fine cleaning of the suspension is carried out by means of one or more conical centrifuges in a subsidiary stream which branches off from the mainstream and is later recombined therewith. The portion containing the largest content of coarse substances is introduced from a vertical sorter located in the mainstream into the subsidiary stream in which it is sorted and cleaned. There is practically no need to process the waste from the conical centrifuges and the conical centrifuge unit can be designed to be substantially smaller and thus more economical in terms of energy because of the smaller flow of material therethrough.
